/addignore the jedi.
This will prevent her from dueling you, also it will keep the usless comments the jedi will say after your kill. Also its funny seeing a jedi you have on ignore looking at you walking back and forth wondering why /duel doesn't work.
Since I currently only hunt jedi of the opposite faction, I usually add any rebel jedi seen to my ignore list in preperation for future bounty's that may fall upon her.
p.s. instead of complaining about the jedi using this exploit, do something about it and use /ignore

Maybe I'm being a bit dumb here, but if your mark doesn't get any response at all from the /duel command, and the rest of his/her group does - isn't that telling them exactly the same as whatever response they currently get if they /duel you?
(I'm presuming Jedi marks get some kind of message saying they are already in combat with that person or something if they try /duel'ing?)
You would have to /addignore the rest of the Jedis group in order for this to be effective.

I dunno if the jedi is expecting some "you cannot duel ..... at this time" and nothing appears, he may think hes lagged or something and this could give you the initial "forst blow" which gives u the advantage over him, could also stop him running and cloaking too.
dunno maybe not a flame just a thought

Now, if there was a way to automatically ignore duel requests (like group requests) from everyone, this would work fine.
I'm surprised this option doesn't exist already to be honest.

1. this works
2 who cares if the other jedi in group are not on ignore. they cant /duel you. this thread is a solution to /duel, not a solution to all jedi knowing if your online or not. while you at the group, you may as well ad them to your ignore list for future use.
3. It does help, say you creep on a jedi group doing their sping grind thing, maybee you watch your mark for a few minutes and decide that you dont want to attack just yet(maybee you want her to gain some more xp, so your kill will be a greater loss for her)
p.s. please dont speculate or flame on this thread, untill you actually go out and try it.

Ok, speaking as a Jedi - this is what happens.
You're in a group on Dant or wherever, someone sees a dot (from a long way away normally0 and as soon as that person is targetable most people will try and "/duel; /endduel". I've done it in the past, and I know from first hand that if you're not that persons mark you see "You challenge JohnMBH to a duel". Groupchat is alive with people saying "not mine", etc.
In the groups I've been in, if the players are savvy, they know who the BH is there for almost immediately. If enough people say "not mine" in groupchat then it narrows down who is left. I know if I saw 3 group members say "not mine" in groupchat then I'd start running, getting prepared, or whatever.

begone jedi please get outta my thread, this works.
1. all jedi are paranoid
2. this works
3. this helps investigating.
p.s. while yout at Durzels jedi grind group, add the rest of the paranoid jedi to your ignore list, then wait till they start fighting a mob(not sooner) and bring out a droid so that they all get visability in group

As an addenum (I don't even know why I'm offering suggestions on improvements to you lot, but still
)..
The real solution is as follows, either:
1) Make it so when a MBH picks up a Jedi mission he/she cannot be dueled by anyone for the duration of the mission, and anyone who tries gets the same message (e.g. "This player is conducting Bounty Hunter business and cannot be dueled at this time"). A Jedi group would all get this same message and would therefore not know who that person was after. The downside of course is that getting a message like that would tell them that he/she was after someone in that group, instead of just passing by.
2) Make an option available to everyone to automatically reject duels. This would still have the result of people automatically assuming the worst when they see a dot coming towards them, but they still wouldn't know who that person was after, or whether it just happened to be someone who wasn't interested in duelling (could just be a normal player, not a MBH).
Another option technically would be having the ability to remove ".. has masted the Bounty Hunter profession" badge from the profile, as that's another thing in my experience which acts like a warning beacon on an incoming dot on the radar.
Bottom line, if you head towards a Jedi group fully buffed with foods on the go you are going to generate serious paranoia anyway, but with the above solutions at least you'd still retain some element of surprise.

This /addignore "fix" doesn't work at all. You just completely ignored the post above you.
