My apologies if this has already been asked. I can't find the "search thread" info.

Are there lightsabers in the game? If so, are they player made? I've looked through the Artisan/Weaponsmith info and don't see them, but maybe I'm simply overlooking it. If they're not, is it something that is going to be implemented in the future?

Yes they are in the game, but I believe only a Jedi can make them.

Yes, Jedi's are the only players that can craft Lightsabers, though other players will be able to yield them with less efficiency.

Just keep in mind that seeing a Jedi PC, much less a light saber, is at least 2 months out.

I found a link on the boards here that led to pics of some Dark Jedi. Some adventurers had accidentally run across them. Poor souls, it looked like a slaughter......

But I digress, the point is that I did see the screens of the Dark Jedi weilding the Lightsabers. My question is now this. If I kill a Jawa trying to shoot me full of holes, when I loot him I usually get a gun. If I decide to go whipsome Dark Jedi butt, do I get their Lightsabers?

p.s. I have a Loc on those Dark Jedi from the screens, but don't know what planet yet

Yes, sabers are in the game.

Yes, you can loot sabers.

No, you cannot craft sabers.

No, you cannot use sabers.

They are a trophy item until you become a jedi. They drop off of Dark Jedi Masters which usually take 15-20 people to kill.

I read in another post somewhere here in the Guides board that there are some Dark Jedi on dantooine. It shouldn't be past the 8th or so page.

Are you sure it was a lightsaber, and not a crafted spraystick named as a lightsaber?

only jedi can make light sabers, and only jedi can weild them. And it takes typically a month for a jedi to create one. Although there is a quick two day way of creating one, but its only to be used in times of emergencies... for a jedi of course. Also consider the timeframe... Very few Jedi during this time considering Vader killed them all in Episode III time frame.

ive seen a few jedi since i started playin swg and ive never seena lightsabers glow... i hear the Swuuzzzzzzhhhh when they turn iton but i see no saber only the handle.....has anyone seen the saber's "blade" ( i dont know what other word to use,,)

Yeah I was wondering about the same thing. Fought a dark jedi master and she didn't have the glowy part lol, but she still owned me.

I have fought a dark jedi master on 4 occasions and only once was I able to see the glow of the saber. When the initial sound effect came i saw the red beam rise out. It didn't last very long, partially cause I was on the run. But when I turned around and had my pet tanking for me, I couldn't see it anymore.
