First off im new to the game so please dont flame me =). Alot of people want to be jedi in this game, that much is a given but i want to be the one who HUNTS them. Here is what i want to know.....
1) What proffesion best compliments MBH and why? I was told any ranged proffession would be good since it would add to my BH skills.
Pistol - it's fast, accurate while moving (kiting a necessity for ranged profession), there are very powerful specials in pistoleer tree including improved disarming shot, intimidate shot, and best of all stopping shot. Pistols are very fast firing weapons another bonus. Pistols are 32-35m, carbines 45m, Rifles 65m. You can extend this range for any of the three using cybernetics.
2) Weapons. What do i use to PVP/PVE? I wanna know what works best for each situation, also keep in mind im not that rich but i still want some solid weaponry so any advice would be great.
Bounty hunter masters get a couple of powerful specials for pvp - adv critical (deadly)and duelist stance (giving +250 defense for 30 seconds) combine that with stopping shot to root a player from moving. Pistols -tons of weaponsmiths (even the ones usually specializing in some other area - dabble in pistol making(more than any other weapon bar none) this is due in no small part to the number of components required to make them (ie lower cost to produce). Another plus is pistols tend to have the lowest action cost - of course there is a balance here the faster you are the faster you will use up all your action and have to pause in play waiting for enough recharge to begin to spam again (or even take that one last needed shot before they can heal again).
3) Tactics. When fighting a jedi i was told by a MBH to start the fight with a knockdown followed by spamming critical shot. This part got me thinking as im sure there is more to it hehe.
If you know your target you will change tactics. For example a baby jedimay have some skills like force run and / or cloak ... Clearly shooting them with KD followed by advanced critical you are only 1 kd recovery from watching them leave a trail of dust.Clearly then for babies you need some sort of snare or better yet root shot holding them in place. The best root in the game is in the novice and master box (improved version) of smuggler, this is because it has avery short cooldown and warmup timer- but the pistoleer stopping shot (also a root) is very good too but much longer cooldown. Someone with very high accuracy (combining multiple disciplines, armor and clothing attachments, food etc) and who had novice smuggler and at the minimum 0003 pistoleer could potentially root nearly perpetually. On the otherhand if you are a pistoleer with only 32m range - you are within range of a jedi saber toss - which in publish 19 was both nerfed and improved. Nerfed in that only the master light saber version kd's now, but improved in that the amount of damage is markedly better. But clearly rooting a jedi out of range for them to use all their other specials like the now fixed saber break 2 which turns your armor into newspaper by analogy.Saber specials other than saber toss for jedi have melee range limitations so keeping a jedi at bay is crtical.
In contrast if you are a master BH master rifleman you have a snare move (slows down movement does not stop it and is mitigated by parawan cakes, burst runor force run) however you have no root.
Thanks for any help guys and gals.

Depends on your play style. Pisoleer/Carbineer/Rifleman are all great additions to MBH. With pistoleer you'll be closer to the jedi then the other two professions but have specials/defenses that will help you survive better. Carbineer hits harder then pistoleer, has better range, but less specials/defenses to help you out if they get close. Rifleman hits alittle harder then carbineer (based on rifles having alittle higher max damage), and has better range, but less specials/defenses then carbineer to help when the jedi gets close.

The best thing to look for is the Max damage, low speed, and low SAC. All three have to be in a good range to make the weapon usefull. You should look at each ranged profession's forums to get a good idea whats considered a good weapon.
3) Tactics. When fighting a jedi i was told by a MBH to start the fight with a knockdown followed by spamming critical shot. This part got me thinking as im sure there is more to it hehe.
There is no step 1 through 4 on killing jedi. Most templates have two high damage specials, switching back and forth between them lets you shoot faster. You'll have to learn the best time to use KD, roots, snares, etc. When you finish your template duel alot to get a feel of your template and to see what works.
Thanks for any help guys and gals.

Hmm interesting. Most people havent said to much about pistols yet but you make a good arguement. With that said, what types of pistols should i be on the look out for?
