Thread: 4000 rifles or 0400 carbs?

I've been MBH Mcarb 4000CM for a good while... mixed success with jedi marks, and no probs at all with the 8k and 17k NPC marks. The 35k+ boss marks have prooved more of a mixed bag for me. Reliant on marks location to mobs and any handy cover i can use to block his LOS while my mind kicks back in for some heals.

While I've enjoyed the challenges I have had, I've made the descision to go down the McM line (gonna debuff those marks a bit) , keeping MBH of cource, but do i keep 0400 carbs? or go for 4000 rifles instead?

Leaving SA's out of the equation (lets assume I will never have any) both builds give me an unmodded speed of +70, with rifle accuracy going +215 over carbs +200.Carb has a MDef of +175 overrifles +170. Both deal out RDef of +200.

Leg shot vs Head shot? The multipliers on these are similar from what I can gather, but how does the cool down differ?

Weapon wise,Alongside my ProtonCarb(580ish-DPS-pupped) have a Bola carb thats DPSing roughly 600 pupped, not the best carb out there, But am lacking a really good Kinetic Carb.

I've picked up an LD-1 kinetic rifle, seems pretty nice, but without breaking the bank too much, am I gonna see much improvment over carb damage and speed with any rifle i qualify for?

The 65m range is an obvious advantage over jedi marks, But is it worth losing my carb snare? I spose i will have electrolyte drain, but do i really wanna run into range to re-apply that?

While a nice high energy Recon armour from Rifleman would be nice, would the speed and movement Mitigations offset any bonus I would see over my 6100/6100 RIS?

lots of questions in there.. not very well asked.. but I hope some of you rifler BH's might be able to make my mind up for me.

this game is about two things right now, healing and sac. you seem to have figured out the healing part since you are going mcm (good choice btw). the second part of this game is sac. damage is nice, but if your mind is dead and you cant shoot, damage is meaningless. many many rifleman have droped rifles for carbs because of the sac. if you get a capd sac carb (73) and as close to capd damage as you can find, you will do more damage than a rifle because you will be able to fire faster (speed) and more often (wont run out of mind).

I am running with mbh/doc4004/novice carband the rest in artisian to run my vendor. I am using the above mentioned carb with no carb boxes at all and i can do the npc missions without any effort on my part. yes i am slower than a master carb and yes im not as accurate, but the doc keeps me alive so i can afford to miss once in a while.

For the NPC part.

Shot the entire time in prone and never closer than 20 meters!!! this adds accuracy to your shots, and defence to the ranged shots from the boss NPC!

For jedi... all this new loot could make for some very nasty weapons.... I would wait to see.

Also inhanced Bio-engenered toss makes a huge difference, 700 more healing points for me each toss. and all you need for that is 4XXX.

MRM, novice CM here and I've had no problems with the boss marks regardless of range. In fact I usually hit them with my rifle until my action gets down to about half, then switch to my scatter and I can special nonstop. I do use stims and bacta shot/toss as well for these fights, but with Ruby bliel and Citrus snowcake I heal great.

EDIT: Also make sure you have your duelist stance on a timed macro.

As for the original question I would agree with Carbs 0-4-0-0.

Thx for the input peeps.

SAC never even entered my mind.. and thinking about it... everytime I have fought a rifler... I do stare at that lack of greeness and laugh. I think thatmemory alone puts me of the rifle plan....

0004 pistols!!!! even more to think about, gonna have a look at that in my char builder. Range worries me with pistols though ( I like to be far far away from my marks ), and I do miss having a 2nd heavy hitting special. Gonna have a look at this though.

I've been 4000 CM for a good while.. and while on the whole the heals are great, the possibiltes of having the full McM debuffs just allow for a bit more leftfield playstyle i think. Specially against some of the more popular Jedi builds.
