Thread: If I DO NOT want to hunt jedi, only npcs for loot do I even need Master Bounty Hunter?
Right NOW you don't need MBH. Not sure if that influences the amount or quality of loot you get, but it's not a "gotta have" at this point. I finally got enough exp to regain MBH and MCM this weekend. On Friday, at CL 76 and 4444 BH, I got a +19 Chassis Experimentation CA on my lvl 77 mark.
Currently you only need BH 3xxx to have a chance at the "Boss" marks. Not sure if having higher levels of BH makes a difference on the loot tables or not (it does make a difference in payouts though).
Currently my max payout (as a Master BH/Master Smuggler) was 31,894 for an NPC-mark, but that was after slicing the terminal. 
I have novice BH only and am CL 50 and I spent 10 hours doing missions.. walked away withi a CA+9 pistol speed, AA +2 Bio Sup, +5 gen Ranged Accur, +3 Melee Def, 2 "fair" clear crystals, about 20 or so smuggler slice components, a ring of aakurna(sp)(+5 rng def), some foraged fruit etc., and a BH armor gloves schematic.
As you can see, not all that great stuff, a couple things that are nice, and some slicing things for later on when I get my template done and want my stuff sliced for a cheaper cost.
You don't need to be master or even a box into investigation.. If stuff like I listed here is good enough for you to be pleased with just novice BH then by all means, just get Novice BH and be set.. from what i've read, it's only your CL that effects your marks lvl and if it's elite or not(boss are MBH though).
So it's really up to you.. anyone can get into the fun of it, and doesn't ruin any template really if it's what you want.
