Thread: Fighting a mark and he shuttles I then get target is offline, even though I can /tell him

Two nights in a row I was fighting a jedi when he ported off a planet. I pulled my Arach and it gave me "target offline". I pulled seeker, and it said "target offline". I sent the jedi and /tell and was speaking to him, but still couldnt locate or track him. I quicklogged and still couldnt track him. Any ideas?

usually means they are in space.

he didn't use a shuttle


He's in space. Generally if I find a mark to be "not online" even though I know he is, I head to Kashyyyk and go as fast as I can to the ryyat trail hoping I can beat him there. But that's not always the correct route.

Why wouldn't he/we be able to even track the target?

Why wouldn't I get the error message that says something like "tatooine error space"?

I used to get that once in a while.... but lately i have only gotten the offline messege. Although Kashyyyk space still gives a message like that (i believe).



As far as Jedi enjoying space content.... I can probably count the times I have had a space offline on 2 hands.... and half of those were otw to kashyyyk.


Once most players have gotten their Ace badge, they only use ships for hopping from planet to planet.... a few do the quests for the royal guard tie, etc.... and a small handfull actually do space pvp (sucks IMO, 1 v 1 is usually over in less time then it takes me to hyperspace.)

Until the next patch. A lot of people will probably be in space mining the resources so that they can restore their disabled barcs, av21's and jetpacks.


Having tried to do some mining recently, it bites, and takes a long time. took me 1 hour to mine 500 units of asteroidal material. (well, considering the first 6 asteroids I went to were tapped. Can you guess which 2 types of asteroids that was)

This was seconds after a fight. He blew my bike, fr to a starport 400meters away and was gone. "offline" even though I could talk to him. I wouldn't think alot about this, but it happened the night before also. I think we will see this coming up a lot more in the next few days. I have been doing 3 to 4 jedi bounties a night and I'm starting to see this occur alot.

Not a bad coward's tactic. You can't collect a bounty while they're in space. But they can't do meaningful grinding up there. If enough Jedi start doing this, they'll extend the BH TEF to launching ships too.

Something I noticed from my friends list is when people shuttle or planet hop you get the "friend is offline....friend is online message"



Myabe the offline part just never resets to online as far as bh droids go.



We were travelling to the shuttle nearest the Krayt graveyard from a starport and half the party gave me the offline status in the friends list when they traveleed there. it reset to online when they landed near the krayt graveyard
