Thread: To Tanks!! Question re; DWB

Any chance of raising the problems with the DWB with the devs?
There are major debates at the moment about its difficulty to complete without Jedi which is primarily due to people questioning why content so geared towards BH's needs a Jedi to complete. However maybe the difficulty is intended - but they fixed the corvette mission recently so if someone like you flagged this up they might look at the DWB again.
Even if the devs decide the difficulty is "As intended" would it be possible to ask for a review of the drop rate of the Binary liquid and Protective liquid coating that is needed to make the Mando? It is now so rare that it is ridiculous - even if you work out a strategy to stay alive you cannot get the materials to make the armour. The DWB is something I would love to do regularly and the problem is I cannot ever hope to get Mando with the drop rate as it is.
Unfortunatley wherever these debates have gone on there has been no dev response so it is not clear if this is something the devs are aware of and whether they intend to fix it or not.
I think this should be given high priority as 1) I assume it would be easy to adjust a few NPC levels and the drop rates of the loot and 2) It would give us BHs something to aim for other than going Jedi.
Thanks.

Not too surprising, though. PVE class interdependancy.
RotW was the writing on the wall.
SW:G is takingsome very EQ2 turns in terms of PVE content. Instanced missions (read as dungeons). Greater (attempts) at class interdependancy (like ranged professions not getting armor break). AI was nerfed, why? Because the devscited PVE concerns. Docs and CM's heal better than Jedi, why? I believe it is so Docs and CM's have a use in PVE.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if SOE starts chucking massive amounts of PVE content in an attempt to lead people off from PVP. From my observations in multiple MMOG's, PVP causes more CSR calls than any other source. Hell, look at how often the BH/Jedi system seems to generate CSR tickets. If a PVE raidtarget beats a hardcore EQ1 guild, they don't go putting in CSR tickets because of it. It's just part of the game.
But when PVP comes around it's "OMG, I just got beat, that can't happen. So-and-so musta 'sploited" for those individuals too gimp to accept they just plain got out-played.
And the other side of it is true too. Think back to the exploits you can remember. How many of them were PVP related, and how many of them were PVE related?
'Sploits means CSR tickets and work. Take a look at SOE's rationale for reversing their years-long stance on game goods being sold for RL dollars. One reason stated had to do with CSR work. The more CSR tickets that are put in, the more CSRs you need. The more CSRs you need the more money youneed to throw at it. 'Sploits or good old-fashioned cry-babyism (yes, it's a real word. I just made it up. Cost ya a buck-fiddy everytime you want to use it.), the result is the same. CSR tickets.
They won't drop PVP support completely. They can't. Putting the genie back in the bottle won't work. But they CAN throw PVE content at you to reduce your PVP time. The more time you spend on PVE pursuits, the less time CSRs need to spend handling PVP disputes.
Well that is why I said that the difficulty MIGHT be "As intended".
However - the drop rate ffor the Binary liquid and Protective liquid coatinglootis too low and that needs to be addressed. Jedi or not - if the loot is as rare as it is than all u can do there is get a badge and maybe craft a Jetpack.
