Thread: Idea concerning Jedi in private structures (Picks up stick and walks over to horse)
Two parts:
1:
If a jedi with high visibility is within a private structure AT THE TIME a BH is scrolling missions, his mission never appears /OR give some system message of "that mark is uable to be hunted at this time", AT THE TIME a BH tries to accept his mission. I prefer the later.
2:
If a jediwith high visiblity is OUTSIDE a private structure AT THE TIME a BH is scrolling missions ACCEPTS his mission, he would be unable to enter any private structure (kind of like old tef system) or even launch into space via spaceport or private craft untill the BH either drops his mission, defeats the jedi or the jedi kills him. After that time, the "tef" is lifted and the Jedi is free to enter his or anyone elses private structure.
No booting the jedi from his house. No 3 day long campouts. That way, Jedi keep the option of remaining in their house, the BHs know from the start that the Jedi is unable to be hunted rather than wasting 40 min to find out, and fianally if the mission is accepted and the Jedi happened to be outside when the BH accepted his mission, he has to deal with the BH after which he is is free to do #1.
What to ya'll think (puts stick down and hugs horse)

Idea #1: I have no problem with this. It seems reasonable and fine.
Idea #2: I have a huge problem with this. Do you realize how much grief this will cause other players..... A jedi is about to walk into his house and pick something up... can't go in because a bh somewhere just grabbed his mission. Who says the bh has to come for him.... The bh can just hold the mission for three days and prevent the jedi from going into a house or space until it goes away. I know plenty of bh's that would love to just grab missions to cause grief to jedi. This is not a solution.
Even without the above problem, it still does not solve what you want. What happens when that jedi finds out he can't go inside and just logs instead of sitting around waiting for you? You accomplished your goal of causing grief to another player but have failed to hunt your target better. Besides not being able to go into a building is a BIG sign to the jedi a bh is after him. We all complain about the /duel exploit giving away our mark. This could give them heads up long before we even get on the same planet. This would make it so we don't find them in the house, but it creates more problems.
In addition, as annoying as it is to find a mark in a house, do we really need more help getting targets. How easy do we want bh missions to be? We wanted to make it so the jedi couldn't run away, now with the snare removing movement mods we are getting what we want. Just because we pull a mission I do not believe we have "earned" the right to be guaranteed a fight with our mark. Hunting the mark and the possibility of them getting away is what makes it fun.

Unfortunately this still ignores a big part of this Jedi/BH conflict. Just because someone is a Jedi doesn't mean that being hunted is all their game time is about. From the time the BH gets the mission they have 3 days to actually track the Jedi down. So basically the Jedi is not allowed to enter his house for 3 days. So they can't unload their inventory, they can't decorate their house, they can't even pick up items from their house to give to others. They also won't be able to go into space to hunt, or to help their guildmates in space.
Basically there's nothing wrong with the current system. Yes, it's mildly annoying finding a Jedi in a house, but that really is all it is, a mild inconvenience.
