Im thinking cause of all the love smugglers have gotten as of late i may change my job, i love pvp and kinda want the BH pistol specials. Question is what do MP/MBH do with the leftover ummm 18 points i think? I read with the CU that it will only pay to be a MBH and figure if i start now i just may make it lol.


I searched for this some and checked out the stickys and couldnt find anything that was recent, thanks yall

Yeah ok so it may have been posted here but hey Im new to MP! Im a pre cu MBH and was Master commando til the CU was about to hit then went to MR, changed from MR to MCM and wasnt thrilled with that and am trying out MP ( yup I did the grind, no respec) what all do I need to know/use/make to have a succesful MBH/MP? I hunt jedi and am curious how succesful this template will be also have CM4---

My random thoughts.


Master Bounty Hunter / Master Pistoleer / Combat Medic 4xxx is a great template. You just have to practice a lot. Get high energy resist armor. Get that armor level 3 sliced for Armor Break Reduction. Get 1100 rated Stim D's. Use foods and spices that help Action and Mind regen. Don't worry about Health Regen because that's what healing is for. If you can afford it, get a Health buff crystal. It buffs your Health for 2k, but can only be used every 3 days. It's great for an emergency. Get a high damage pistol with OK SAC and a low SAC pistol with OK damage. Use the first to lay down some damage until your Action gets low. Use the second to lay down some states until your Action regens. You're gonna get damaged at 35m. Practice using knockdown, root and Disarming Shot to set the pace of the battle and allow for healing.


It's a tough fight, but it's rewarding when you succeed.

Pug what are you going to do with your MBH, MP, CM 4000 template? Any world on this pub 21 healing fix? Are you going to change to MBH, MP, Carb 0440 and just use ruby's and stim d's? I guess if we have MPistoleer then we HAVE to keep our CM 4000 healing or we have absolutely no chance against full temp jedi's.


Just out of curiousity have you tried other templates like MBH, MR, CM 4000? or MBH, MCarb, CM 4000. My current template is headed towards MBH, MCarb, CM 4000 but now I am second guessing myself and might want to change up.


Not sure. Very frustrating. I want to be able to take down full temp jedi's but I also want to be able to solo high end level 80+ mobs to get some loot as well.

Yeah, my thoughts remain the same even with an impending healing nerf..


Personally, I think that with ruby and good stim D's, and novice medic healing at at least say, 700 every 5 sec...(don't forget a droid that would bump that up even further if you took the time..) That your healing is covered..If that doesn't keep up with the damage a jedi does, either A.) you're going to die anyway, or B.) spend your whole time healing, doing no damage yourself, and beating the sh1t out of your own armor..don't need that...

So, I choose the ranged acc. bonus, power shot, and snare of carbineer 0400... When I fight Jedi, I usually can tell pretty quick who's going to win..If he slaughters me quick, then so be it, props to him. But if not, chances are I'm going to have the upper hand the rest of the fight with the crowd control abilities pisoleer offers...try it, see if you like it man..

I've only ever been a Pistoleer.


If I understand the changes in Publish 21, they won't affect Combat Medic 4xxx players at all. It will affect Medix xx2x players a bit. I am going to wait to hear back from the community after Publish 21 is released before making any changes. If I do make a change (and I probably will), this will be my template:



  • Master Bounty Hunter

  • Carbineer x4xx - Awesome accuracy, a snare and a high damage special from this tree.

  • Medic xx1x - Gotta have some healing. I don't do Medic xx2x because I use those skill points to get the 4th box of Carbineer (see above). You can get the equivalent of Medic xx2x by using FS healing for fewer skill points (see below).

  • Force Sensitive Healing 1xxx - This puts me at the equivalent of Medic xx2x for less skill points.

I was that template once (minus the FS Healing). I liked it, but you don't have Bacta Shot with that template and 2 of the 4 FS Healing boxes are wasted because 2 of them affect Cure Efficiency. I just like having that 5 second Bacta Shot on top of Ruby/Stims. It can mean the difference between life and death. I had that template before Saberthrow had its Knockdown removed, which caused big problems. So maybe the landscape is a little different now.


I'm always evolving though. So some day I may end up with that template again.

OK, I have been a MBH/MPistoleer (with carbineer 3000) pre-CU and it's always been great, then I went MBH/MSmuggler post-CU (also tried out MBH/MSword on a different toon) and ended up going back to my classic MBH/MPistoleer with squad leader 0003 and I'm liking it (but may have to adjust that due to the bactashot change). Only downside is that you have to be within saberthrow range most of the time so you better get some 6500-8K energy resist armor and get it 75% armorbreak reduction sliced. I use a SAC pup on an ADK'd scatter so I don't have action/mind problems and I think my best strength is lasting a long time even against Knights which wears them out.
