I know, I know, I should be rich by now with all the NPC Loot that I've been getting, but lately I've been a packrat. And so for PVP (Galactic Civil War Stuff) I just use BE clothing and food.

(I haven't hunted jedi bountiesin awhile as well, it's a lot of work (i.e. Mark is an Kassyx,Space, or in a house)and really reserved to the truly dedicated (i'm not. I'm lazy) , and I'm already city banned from most of Tattooine and the other main inhabited planets....)

Anyways, on to the point. I was wasting away 500K every couple of weeks on destroyed armor, and it wasn't justa safe place to stash your armor attachments. Clothing on the other hand does not decay during actual fighting, and decays slowly during PVE cloning (you have 100 clones if item is insured). So, clothing is a great place for Attachments, as your PVP clothes will not really decay (or have a smaller chance of decay) and therefore last a long time.

Here's what I use:

BE Clothing with total mods:

+25 Healing Efficiency (BE)

+15 Terrain Negotiation (50 is max for walking terrain negotiation and w/ BH mods you're at 55)

+25 Ranged Defense (BE)

+15 Intimidation (BE)

+12 Pistol Speed (from tapes)

+10 Pistol Accuracy (from tapes + Featherweight FWG5) = +25

+15 General Ranged Accuracy (from tapes)

+03 General Ranged Speed (from tapes)

+10 Bio Suppression Efficiency

+5 Med Warfare Efficiency

+5 Tracking Droid Effectiveness

Various low mods for Defense vs. Knockdown, Dizzy, Stun etc...

A few open sockets to cap out...

Anyways, as you can see it's easy to cap out on a fully modded suit. And Clothing Attachments, especially for ranged professions (not melee, melee is outrageous prices) is cheaper than Armor Attachments. Most people are concentrating on armor attachments for their Energy Layered Recon or Battle Armor Suit.

Okay, so what's the damage?

Well, a jedi with Improved Saber Break (~75% of the population) will reduce your 7000 or 8000 energy armor to about a 2000 effectiveness, basically taking your energy protection from 50% to about 15-20%.

So unless you can find money foryour uber supreme energy layered suit w/ Armor Break Protection (good luck finding Shock Absorbent Padding). How do you compete?

Well throw away the armor, especially with Jedi as it's utterly useless unless you have it Armor Break Sliced. Might as well be fighting without armor, and get the benefits of modded clothing.

So how do I protect myself?

Ah, the answer is food.

1. Pica Thundercloud (Drink) for ranged defense

2. Breath of Heaven (Drink) for health, mind, action...

3. Ruby Bliel (Drink) for Stimpack usage

4. Booster Blue for health, mind, action.

5. Ranged Speed Stim (+10 to XXX Weapon Speed of your choice, can be reused)

6. Ranged Accuracy Stim (+10 Weapon Accuracy)

As you can see you have used up all in drinks. With low fill stuff you should be able to cram all of this in.

This leaves you plenty of stomach space.

Buy the following:

1. Exo Protein Wafers (+25%) 5 Fill,18 seconds

2. Synthsteak (+45%) 25 Fill, 45 seconds

3. Air Cake (+20 Dodge) 15fill for 20minutes (Eat this first and wait to have stomach empty)

Low fill is key.

Now putallin a toolbarslot and use Exo Protein during normal melee ranged fighting. (No need to use it if target is +rooted+ and you're wailing away) Use Synthsteak when knocked down.

Exo Proteinshould give you 17x20 seconds of +25% armor. Or 340 seconds.

Synthsteak should give you 4x45 seconds of +45% armor. Or 180 seconds.

So the combination should work on average of 240 seconds of protection, or 4 minutes.

Use Exo Protein when you get in melee range. Kite, root, and snare when out of range.

Use Synthsteak when you get Knockdown. When knockdown, Synthsteak, Stim D, knockdown recovery. By the time your stim-d time is up, you should expect a knockdown. Your synthsteak should still be active and just reapply a stim d while knocked down and get up.

So just with food alone, you're up to +25% Damage Reduction.

Do Duelist Stance, and this will cut down damage by another 10%.

Air Cake, will let your opponent miss more, and generally this cuts down another 10%.

Intimidate Shot, when it sticks lowers your opponents damage output by 25%.

Thyroid Rupture, slows down your opponent by 25%.

Eyeshot, reduces your opponents accuracy.

So, in essence with all states applied to your opponent, Thyroid Rupture, Intimidate, and Blind, your damage output of your opponent is greatly reduced. Add in duelist stance, defensive buffs, and mitigation food, well it's as if you're fighting with armor on.

I'll need to do more testing, but I have shed my armor, and like to hunt in BE clothing. I have a special set of PVP BE Moddedclothing that is made to look like a newbie. (Crafter Pants, Brown Cold Weather Jacket). Especially for Galactic Civil War this is great, as I've been able to take down singlehandedly other BH's in full armor. I can't claim jedi as my kills were assists rather thanone-on-one.

Anyways, I've found that fighting without armor makes me a more aware player and has immensely improved my PVP skills. I've also placed all those SEA's and put them to use with fear of less decay.... It also improved my PVP experience as I'm more apt to go out and participate in the Galactic Civil War than ever before!Idon't have to worrry about my million dollar SEA's rotting away in Armor or unused.. No one likes going to the cloner with a stray NPC incap in yourenergy layered, sliced, suit of Scout Trooper Armor loaded with Armor Attachments....

I hope this sheds new light on a different playstyle. This does buck the trend, it's not easy, and it's not for everyone.

Yes. BE Mods do work.

For Ranged Characters, you want to max out on ranged defense. As the melee/ranged defense stat depends on the weapon you have equippped. Therefore, if you are a ranged BH (90% are), then you need to max on ranged defense. For defensive foods you need to drink Pica Thundercloud and that should boost your ranged defense by +100.

So altogether with Duelist Stance (+250), Pica (+100), and BE Mods (+25) you can typically be running around +375 Ranged Defense on top of your normal defenses. Now if you're a smuggler, you can unequip/equip your weapon and run Center of Being (+250). This will give you a total of +610 Ranged Defense.

And yes Center of Being and Duelist Stance. I tried it on my smuggler friend and she was wicked hard to hit. She even dueled jedi, and jedi just force ran away as her Ranged Defense was equivalent to basically Force Aura.
