For MBHs who ground investigation by hunting marks rather then grinding base terminals, they are unprepared for fighting a jedi. NPC marks teach the new bounty hunter nothing except how to operate seeker droids.

  • BH NPC marks use ranged attacks. (lots of jedi use carbines and pistols....ooooh....good training here!)

  • Marks invariably run up to within 12 - 35m of you and then spam various ranged specials at you. (Kind of tough for ranged to kite ranged.)

  • What's up with the spray shot they use to agro all the nearby mobs onto themselves. Doh!

  • The most interesting ones may use knockdown repeatedly, other then that you can start up a macro and go grab a soda while your toon fights them.

  • Some marks do 16 damage!!!!

  • They never agro on you so growing bounty hunters ride up to their prefered range, store their bike, suit up, chow on some food, call a droid, chat with their buddies, send a note to their tailor, get into the perfect position, check line of sight, aimed shot....start pounding away. They may watch TV while pressing 3,3,3,3,3,7 (heal),3,3,3,3,3,3,7, etc., then loot and move on.

In my not so humble opinion, BH NPC marks should at the very least be melee npcs so growing BHs can learn how to kite if they're so motivated.

Nightsister Elders are probably better models for BH NPC marks. Unfortunately, none of the NS use any force powers that I've noticed except maybe Force Run when you snare them it seems. Nightsister Rancors seem to me to be the best mobs I've encounteredfor practicing to kite with your template and weapon combinations.

Ideally, a BH mark should use be modeled after various jedi templates. They should knockdown, roots, stasis, armorbreak and heal themselves. They should have a large force pool that their specials draw from but that can be exhausted.

The BH should be able to practice kiting marks, recovering from KD, chasing down runners, worrying about Line-of-Sight issues and agroing other mobs while kiting, jedi using LoS to heal, etc.

BH marks should have an extended perception range and roll agro checks when theBHgets withinvarious ranges and every few seconds that the BH is within range to teach BHs to prepare far away and only approach under cover or when ready to fight.

Some marks should try to flee at random times and yes, use Force Run. Marks should be unpredictable and a challenge.

Jedi trolls: here's something for you guys. If you play a BH loot farming alt, you may actually get something out of it while grinding for tapes too and it may actually help your pvp as a jedi when you see what various attacks do to your BH and learn to counter the counter to the counter. Plus, when you do get attacked by a new BH, he may actually have some practice using his basic skills under his belt by the time he gets to you and prove to be a more interesting encounter.

Some of my suggestions may be too difficult to code in. I think at the very least the marks should be modeled after the NS Elders and their agro ranges increased significantly.

We can hope! But I dont think the devs will program this AI!

Btw, the marks do use melee attacks! Just go near them and you see!
