if u kill a knight, hes is constantly overt right? what if you are overt from the opposite faction. doesnt that mean if he clones he will still be overt? so if u kill him and see him again he would be attackable regardless of if you had a mission or not. so would attacking him be griefing?if it is wouldnt be attacking anyone and killing them more than once be griefing if they are overt?

I had a BH come for me in the morning, I'm TKM plus a bit of other skills...

I beat the guy, but didnt kill him because he ran away...no honour amongst BH's i guess

Later the same day, I was hunting with a group of friends, 7 of us, he attacked again...wonderful he started to get beat, even though i could have taken him myself...he ran away AGAIN and hid in a lake so no one could attack him. I didnt ask him to attack, i was enjoyng a great guild huntand helping some of the newer members....

I tried to talk to him, but his response was (apart from the F words he used) that he was here to make me loose exp, great...

should I have to put up with this? 2 times, same bh in one day?

With the same token, i've met some great bh, I'll name them because they do have honor (I've been hunted 10 times now in 4 hrs of game time)

It is not griefing because he still had the same mission on you the entire time. If you DB him he should lose the mission, but if your visibility is up enough, all he has to do is go get another mission on you and keep trying.

It is ONLY griefing if he is using a TEF that did not clear from his data pad after you DB him or he DB's you.

... Of course you will hear some Jedi say that hunting you Jedi at all is griefing you, but that is just the whiney, sniveling can't handle being a Jedi in the first place people.

I havent lost yet (here comes the gank squads)..but 10 bh in 4 hrs?...come on, how can i play this game if that happens all the time?, i killed 2, girly bh ran away twice and I talked to the rest, since we couldnt actually harm each other!!)

I dont even know how i got on terms, I hunt solo, 5000m from the nearest OP...its just a joke

The same BH twice in one day isn't griefing but him saying he wants you to lose XP is.

Same BH a few times in one day seems ok to me.

Maybe you could report him if he talked to you rudely

Technically no. You can do the same if you choose to. Anyone can. It is cheesey and a little whimpy, but if I were a Jedi and I was loosing, I would do it myself.

As a BH, I think I would just take my licking by the Jedi and move on... But that is me.

You can hop on a tall mount and try to attack him that way, but since you are a Jedi, it might not work as well for you trying this tactic.

You should have chased him down and killed him. He would have done the same to you.

then dont worry about him. if you can beat him all day like a drum. let him keep coming. sooner or later he will get tired of running.

Well stated Homebrue, hows this:

I think any BH hunting a Jedi is Grieffing. It is sanctioned by SOE in SWG, it is the mechanics of the game, but none the less it is grieffing. Why? Simple, you choose who to hunt, you choose when to attack, and the sole goal is to kill the jedi and make them lose exp. Now when this happens, the jed is filled with some type of emotion (1. Yeah I am now off the terminals, 2. Boo, I lost x amount of exp, that is x hours of me to rebuild, 3. Oh well, I don't really care). There are very few 1 and 3 in the game being hunted.

Can I handle being hunted, yes, I always attempt to fight, I run if I am fighting more than one opponent and can't handle them (why would I stay and ide if I can prevent it?). Do I ever send negative tells to a BH? Nope, I congratualte them if they beat me, I offer my condolenses and a positive word if I win. But that doesn't change the syste, The system still encourages grieffing. Grieffing: having fun at the expense of another.

Now if a BH really just enjoys PvP, why are they not overt and participating in the GCW? It takes no skill to track jedi, it really is not very different figthing a fencer. And there are a few knights on every server taht are always overt, thus there are still jedi to fight. Personally the financial reward BH get is too high, it only entices more BH to go out and get the credits, and care little about the effect it has on another player.

Yes jedi choose to play, yes that opens them up to BH attacks, and yes they can minimize (note you can not 100% prevent getting on the terms regardless what BH may think they know of the system) the amount you are on the terminals. But I fail to see how teh system does what it si suppose to do: Jedi Population Control. A new system needs to be implemetned that minimizes the exploits and grief and allows non Jedi knights the choice of how they want to play, PvP or PvE.

To the original poster, the BH was not exploiting the system, nor griefing in any unsanctioned manner.

No. You're not griefing by getting to him quickly. By his statements it would have been perfectly ok for you to have killed him, just a little bit later on. God gave us morons like this to laugh at.
