Thread: Is there any information on Mando armor? Specifically how to obtain it.
It's very difficult to make, and VERY rare. It's about the same stats as Composite nowadays.
You could probably sell it on Ebay for 30x more than any jedi account![]()
Mando armour is made by using the loted BH armour that used to drop from Black Suns on Endor and Yavin. They are no longer dropping it.
But, ideally, you'd get the BH armour, then tke a group of friends to the death watch bunker, with a master armour smith, master droid engineer, and master artisan.
It's hard to get down there in the first place, even harder to take wussy crafter in there....
The mando is made in the DWB if i'm not mistaken (if I am, i'm sure some one will correct me).
Also, crafted BH armour, as seen on TC pre-CU (anticipated for the CU) is not on live either. Along with the maurader assault and recon armour.... no word on these.
Hopfully it will come back soon, but at this time the only way to get the pieces needed to make mando is to buy them.
I'm sorry.

I heard there is Mando armor in this game, however, I've never seen anyone wearing it. Is it just rare, or not very good? Is there a writeup where I can find more information?
i'd suggest looking in the items and loot forums. but what everyone else said is pretty much correct, and the reason you don't see much of it is for both of those reasons, it isn't that good and it is extremely difficult to craft.

There are guides out there to do the DWB... but they are out of date from what I can tell post CU. As far as the BH armor not dropping... well all the bh armor that dropped pre-CU is wearable and named "crafted" .. while anything that has dropped since then is just an item, and not flagged as wearable.... also meaning that it HAS dropped since CU. Probably just aren't seeing alot of it since the black suns that drop it are now lvl 88-89 Elite mobs, and it's still a rare drop.
The new stats on mando are alot better than they were pre-CU, and I've even spied a new "component" that I'd not seen before used in the crafting process now that lets you actually pick the color. There is one Mando Chestpiece on display, ADK'd and made POST CU... the stats are 7000kinetic/6000energy .. can't remember elemental resists, but they were pretty decent as well. I know these aren't end game uber stats, as on most servers the hardcore AS's know how to make armor with good resources... but when you start getting higher mitigations than this, the land of diminishing returns sets in, and it's not making that much of a difference anyhow.
DWB is impossible atm unless you have a zerg team to do it, and there is better armor out there to have alot easier than this.... But it's still mando, and it's definately not to shabby compared to most armor.
I know I don't have any proof that BH Armor still drops... that is just a hunch, so if I get any to drop I'll DEFINATELY post otherwise when I see it. Only went out with a smug/pistoleer buddy so we didn't have the heals to take on one of these guys... I DID notice that there were alot more than just 3 of them up at the time.
well mando isn't that hard to get if you know what you are doing. Most people who have any of it just have a helmut. Crafting a full suit requires all the different crafting professions. Master DE can make the Helmut and is needed to open the door to the forge room. Master Artisan makes the jetpack. Master Tailor makes the leggings and the belt. Master Weaponsmith and Master Armorsmith craft part of it too . . .just cant remember which.
BUT the key thing to remember is that you ALWAYS need to have a Master DE in the group in order to even open the forge door AND the DE has to have the alum gel packets and a Looted BH bracer or Helmut to open the door as well.
Pre CU anyone could wear composite so a non-combat crafter would be able to survive the descent into the depths of the DWB. Now, unless the crafter is certified to wear armor he cant wear any. The best CL you could probably expect from a crafter would be CL 54. So you need to get down there to craft. If you are just after a mando helmut and jetpack then you could take a CL 54 char that is both DE and Master Artisan. But then what doyou put in the remaining 7 spots in your group. Certainly not another crafter.
Most groups now consist of a mix of ranged/melee and jedi. Jedi used to be the main damage dealers in the groups. Many groups still go down with loads of jedi and seem to be succcessful. Most groups now consist of 2-3 full groups and they work in tandem. The prob is . . .only 1 group can craft at a time. And on success the entire group is booted to the surface. The other groups will have to fight their way out . . .or take a crafter so they can craft and get booted on success.
I have yet to hear of anyone coming close to a full suit of Mando Armor. If and when it is completed it will be a true sight to see. Certainly it will be worth 9 ADKs to keep it in pristine condition forever. The suit alone would be priceless and only a fool would sell it. I suppose though if you were dedicated enough, had a group dedicated enough, and worked hard enough for about a year or two then you would be able to get one full suit made. Good luck!
