Thread: A new idea to a jedi death penalty

This should more than likely belong on the jedi boards, but instead, I thought I would post it here, since BH seem to be more productive in their suggestion.


So here goes. BH takes a mission on a jedi. Jedi dies. Jedi gets banished to a new planet Dagobah that you cannot get to via ship or spaceport. This planet will be filled with various crits, where the Jedi will have to retrain their powers in the force. They will have a set of missions that they must do in order to leave the planet. If they wanted to be real fancy, maybe they can make the missions like tutorials/teachings on each branch of the force that the jedi has. As the finalpiece of trainingto get off the planet, they have to gain as much xp as they lost due to the bh death. They cannot gain more xp than what was lost.


You could even have the other side of the coin also. If a bh dies, then they get sent to a training planet where they have to do a similar thing. And when they add smugglers, and anyone else, banish them off to a similar planet also.

if jedi kill a bh ,will they also be sent to a special planet and will have todo quests to leave it ??

I don't think the same should apply to BHs, but I love the idea for Jedi. I think if you want, you should be able to stay on Dagobah, but the only way to get there is to be killed as a Jedi.

Hmmmmm...very interesting. I like it, for both sides! Then some of these newer BHs could get some hardcore training and know how to best play their characters. /applaud!

interesting, i bet it would get boring fast, if you want remove jedi from play and get rid of XP loss I still like the Blue Glowy.

BH shouldnt get sent away, a lot easier for most jedi to kill a BH than the other way around.


I think its a good idea, but id prefer perma death for master jedi, and skill loss for lower jedi, so there no full temps running around showing off.

Interesting idea.


Though I'm a fan of the old perma death system.


One big thing about it I liked was that if you made it to master and died you became glowy. I'd love to be glowy like Ben. Can you image what it would be like to get that with the perma death system? it would be the ultamit badge of accomplishment.


Though I love the idea of a training planet for jedi, would be cool if after the village you get sent to a training planet untill you become ready for the jedi trials and then are able to leave into the real world as a knight and with perma death.


I mean I'm not against having jedi (Even at their original powerful selves.) but I'd like it to be a real challenge and goal like perma death made it. I mean heck with the new system even I have a jedi.

There should be ups and downs for both sides. Most jedi just run because it isn't worth their time to kill us.

It might work if there was an option.


option 1: lose xp


option 2: clone on dagobah



additionally, for however long your stay ison dagobah, you accrue what's known in the WOW community as blue xp, which fills up twice as fast as regular xp.


also, dagobah should have no mobs or npc's that would grant xp in any form, so it would be a kind of safe planet, maybe even put in some content, just for fun content.


This would fulfill 2 much needed mechanics.


1. allow jedi to recover from a bh death, without having to regrind any xp, also they could do this while offline, which is nice.


2. allow for a bit of a kickback for losing out on the time they had to spend on dagobah.

As a BH/Jedi at the same time(gotta give up the BH sometime) i agree with that, imagine all the paddies wanting to get killed when it comes out just to go to dagobah lol

I like the concept and it has a lot of potentialbut I don't know about Dagobah. I'm skeptical about any content that is exclusively available to only one group of players, even if it's in the form of punishment. So alternatively, how about a general prison planet where everyone who is in a situation that results of PvP is sent. Perhaps it would be an option at the end of conflict, where the person who is victorious has the choice of either capturing the opponent or delivering a deathblow. This prison area, whether it's a planet, a prison on an existing world, a space station, or an asteroid, might have different sections corresponding to different types of factions. So there might be a rebel prison, an imperial prison, a Jedi prison, and a rogue prison. Or heck, maybe they could be mixed in the general prison population, kind of like a penal colony. Offering alternatives to deathblow might enhance PvP across the entire game and not just for the Jedi vs. BH war that has been imposed on players.
