Thread: BH Droids
Hey, I just trained Novice BH a few hours ago, but I've already done quite a few BH missions (15-20 I think). When will I start to need droids, and what are they used for? As of yet I've just taken the mission, talked to the informant, killed the bounty, rinse and repeat.

According to the Prima guide you're supposed to use them on missions. It said that BH missions don't give you a handy orange waypoint and you're supposed to use droids to find them. Have you run into that? Being a few thousand skill points away myself I don't have that knowledge. 
I did see a BH Droid vendor on Corellia, Tyrena in between the starport and the bank. 
You'll need them when you train Investigations I and beyond. While the mark is stationary and on the same planet on your novice missions, they get trickier during investigations I. Marks will be mobile, and therefore the informant can only probide you with a bio-signature to track him with. You use seeker droids to track his progress around the planet. Some of the harder missions (and all missions in investigations II and above), the mark will travel between planets. You will need Akayd Probe Droids to track their interplanetary progress.

1000 credit droids tell you what planet your target is on and where. 200 credit droids tell you where on the planet your target is. All after investigations 1. But you shouldn't be getting investigations one because the mission payouts and time required make it far worse than novice missions.
Just a message to all of the Bounty Hunters Who're making a nuscince of themselves on the Droid Engineer Foums.
Basicly It's tough Luck, you're not going to get Droids at half the price it costs to make them any more, so you have 3 options
1. Don't buy them: Simplest Option
2. Shop around : If you'd made an effort to say on the DE forums that Bounty Hunter Droids are still bugged, you'd get a bit more understanding, basicly there are Droid Engineers out there who will give you reasonable prices if you start acting reasonably.
3. Buy the resources and bring them to a Droid Engineer, who may charge 25 -50 credits for assembly (I'm going to be doing this on Eclipse (Send an in game e-mail to Arcid for prices or Resources Required).
Now, I doubt if you can complain that option 3 is unfair, even if you do have to pay more than the original droid prices for Materials, but that's the way things are, and remember, DEs are paying the same usually
I hardly think your suggestions are more than a band-aid on a gaping wound.
Most of the people on the cross posted threads are of the opinion that increasing the "uses" on the BH Droids is an acceptable solution to the problem.
As a matter of fact, BH's *AND* DE's are agreeing on this. They look at resource costs, and we look at what we used to buy the droids for.
Putting up harvestors and mining ore only shifts/masks the true cost of the BH Droids from the DE to us BH's who have a hard enough time making ends meet, let alone paying for upkeep on power and ore harvesters.
As far asI was aware the single use of BH droids was a bug,my ideas are justtemporary measuresuntil that bug is fixed. And not being able to make ends meet isn't unique, I'm still running Destroy or Hunting missions to pay for my Harvesters.
Also I have an offer, any BH on Eclipse who can point me to a source of Extrusive Ore will get 10 Free Droids from me.
actualy its not a bug as someone stated a week ago, at information 1 & 2 they are suposed to be single use, then at 3,4 & 5 they have multiple uses. not sure of this as im stuck at information 2 as i have yet to figure out a valid consistant (50% atleast) tactic of taking down bh marks, however for the time being im leaning on surendering the inv line and going back to doing novice missions until this is fixed. perhaps others should do this also, no offense to DE's any where but i cannot afford to buy your droids at the curent costs you are forced to sell them at with my curent mission pay out. i beleve DE's see this as a problem and most are willing to work with us to get this rectified.
as a side note perhaps we should look into resource dupeing. hehe jk.
If you're in the Starsider galaxy you can get a steady supply of BH droids off of my vendor outside of Coronet.
