Has anyone else experienced this or something similar? I couldn't believe what I saw when I looked at the combat spam.

Make sure the condition on your carbine isn't almost 0.
I don't know when it start to degrade but that is usually the reason, or you fighting something that has high energy/cold resists.

go shoot a normal NPC...this kind of damage would be close tonormal against say a Master Defender...
alsocheck the condit like the other guy said.
