Thread: Slicing Advice?

Maybe i should ask in the weaponsmit or smuggler forums, but i thought i'd try here first
i just bought a nice scatter dmg cap and sac cap, 53 acc
speed is 2.1
i'm mbh/mpistol, so should i slice this for speed or for critical? i have a featherweight fwg5 with similar but not as good stats, sliced 10% critical and it seems bugged (doesn't do the extra damage on regular shots, only with critical shot)
what do you guys recommend on this scatter?

the scatter is energy dmg, the featherweight i had beenusing is kinetic
i know they say dps doesnt mean a whole lot, but i frequently use ranged and placed shot when i get low on action
the 4x speed slice (100% customization) would drop the speed to about 1.85, and increase base dps from 309 to 351

you are correct in stating that you have the option of speed and/or critical.

This isthe link to the Smuggler FAQ. Scroll down til you see the big heading of "Slicing" which will tell you what level slice gives what % customization to your gun. If you want the 100% speed slice, then it's a no brainer, but if you choose to do say a level 2 speed slice and level 2 critical (on the hope that they fix this mechanic) you can see how that affects your %.
Me, I'd go speed all the way to the speed cap since you're already dmg capped. (i wish we could slice SAC)
