Interesting.. but seeing as how most of them wouldn't be able to effectively fight back...
Of course 'pandering', 'double-talk' and 'political correctness' could be combat abilities, and they would cause massive Mind damage, as well as countless wounds.

i dunno, i like the militia as bodyguards idea, the politician would not need combat skills of his own if he has bodyguards protecting his interests, lets say anyone who becomes mayor (assuming we only hunt mayors) can set, lets say 5 official bodyguards who share the bh TEF - this would be similar to jedi missions, in that, you would have to choose your time to strike wiselyMessage Edited by T-rep on 08-11-2005 02:10 AM
5 NPC body guards or 5 PC body guards? I could see using NPCs but depending on PCs would throw the whole thing out the window because not every politician has a bunch of guys that would just walk around with him all the time.
Should be like faction pets

What's to keep the mark from running in a priv house and /logoff at that point?
I think NPCs would work better all the way around

politician costs 0 sp. why not? (if they have a certain level though, hunting crafters is just wrong)

You have to remember Bounty Hunters aren't really assassins, and "hunting" politicians is more of an assissin thing. This game gives BH's more of an assassin feel, because we really don't have the ability to take anyone alive... and plus, the Devs don't give us any nifty lassos or anything that we can round up "dem' lil' dahgies" with and take them alive.
If anything, Smugglers would be the only other profession that should have the "ability" to be hunted. Mainly because it's common sense... that's how it was presented in the movie with Greedo and Han and Boba Fett and Han.
Of course, my vision of player bounties would be slightly different. Anyone who gets a harrassment report sent in about them by a lot of people should be placed on the terminals... instead of CSR's going through their four week process of finding them guilty, we could gun them down in could blood shouting "should have been a more curtious player, fool!"... the only problem is, I think there would be a hell of a lot more Jedi on the terminals then.

I know...
SWG is one of the few MMOGs that doesn't have alot of forced PvP (except jedi). People can piss others off in-game with veryfew consequences...
