I hunted a Jedi (MDefender 7000 innate armor = 53% armor) and hit him for 188 (ranged shot). First I thought that he was taking damage reduction food, but no, he did not. After consulting my combat log I found this:

... armor absorbed 520 out of 708 possible damage = WHOPPING 73% armor !!!!

after he wasted me, I asked him how he did that. He was quite perplexed. I asked him to duel him to test it some more, and I did 256 points of damage:

All of a sudden the combat log stated:

... armor absorbed 322 out of 578 possible damage = NORMAL 55% armor (he had PSG giving some more points).

In fact there are TWO bugs which interlink ONLY IF YOU HAVE A MISSION ON THE JEDI:

First our damage output is upped by 22%.

BUT the second one is more severe: upped the innate armor by 20%.

Conclusion:BH damage output is reduced by 26.5%.

I have verified that NONE of the following has any impact on it:

- PSG only adds SMALL amounts of armor (4 points less damage) to MDefs

- damage reduction buffs reduce the maximum possible amount of damage only, not raising armor.

I tested this with 3 different Jedi to ensure that this was constant and not a casual situation or a complex exploit.

P.S.: This is coming from a Jedi Knight, I have a MBH only to kill time until FRS. But I felt to post it cause it seems rather unfair.

No.

Force armor+MDef caps at 10000 innate armor anyway (60%).

This would not explain:

73% armor

nor

raised maximum possible damage.

lot of factors still not discounted. the biggest being force aura wich adds 500 melee/range def which can have a huge impact on your damage depending on the min/max damage range.

If he was a master def he had aura up and that adds to damage reduction and could account for the additional damage reduction your seeing.

In fact it probably does.

I am gonna say that by using Aura, your weapon damage is sent to the low end (what happens is if their {ranged} defense is higher than your {ranged} accuracy, you're damage will be close to your minimum damage and vice versa). I bet is just is bugged in how it communicates that data to the person (figures).

I've hit mdef jedi for 124 points of damage using adv critical and a 1182 max damage e11 (powerupped). Against that kind of mitigation all you can do is just chip away at their force pool and prepare yourself for a long long fight. Aura serves to reduce damage dealt hugely (and make the jedi a lot harder to hit), when combined with other skills and foods your damage dealing abilities are hugely hindered.

You guys do not know much about defenses and such? Ok, short explanation:

1. Difference between accuracy/defense ONLY affects the MAXIMUM POSSIBLE DAMAGE

2. Food only affect the MAXIMUM POSSIBLE DAMAGE

Only two things that ADD to armor are:

1. FA

2. PSG

But there is NO WAY for the TWO bugs observed to take place by food/FA or anything else:

1. 22% higher MAXIMUM POSSIBLE DAMAGE

2. 20% higher INNATE ARMOR (up to 75% observed while it CAPS at 60%) !!!!!!

adding up to

LOSING 26.5% damage output!

Try it yourself:

1. Pick a mission

2. Track target

3. Ask Target to have test with it

4. Do ONE ranged shot while on mission and NOTE DOWN the line from combat log

5. Drop mission, and duel him

6. Do one ranged shot and not down the line from combat log

7. COMPARE the two lines.

By the way, I duelled TWO of the Jedi I had mission on with them using the EXACT same foods, drugs and buffs/macros.

The difference was STILL there.
