they've removed these defensive capabilities from the skill trees as far as I can see, but there's still food (a lot) than can be crafted that gives + block and + dodge....does it still work...and if so, how well

thx

There's alot of debate on that subject - some say yes some say no. Personally I'm one of the ones who says no, as I've never seen any improvement over hit/miss ration while using the dodge foods.

Yes, Pikata pie & AIrcake seems to help increase the misses, Vayerbok definately helps the amount of block inflicted so they do seem to be working.

mmm does block do anything else but stop all damage ?

btw you still can use both dodge and healing food.....it's not a matter of choice... I just want to know is dodge/block food helps any

I use the foods, but I didn't really check to see if they work......lol.

And if block still works same as pre-CU it blocks 1/2 the damage inflicted.

block food Vayerbok works but not really well against high end mobs...and it blocks 50% of the attack.

you can test this out by taking vayerbok and letting a level 1-20 mob hit you you will see a few "+BLOCK+" over your head.

Pikatta pie is a "dodge" food, even before the CU when block/dodge/counter-attack were in the game, pikatta pie never added to your dodge. its just a flat "to miss" chance.

With pikatta pie for instance your opponent will miss alot more. As a jedi i never go into pvp without it. Its one of my primary defences.
