(I posted this is in my galaxy forum, but thought you guys might enjoy it.)

Everyone wants a second chance after they do something they regret, like jumping through a glass door or joining the Rebellion. Once and a while, though, you DO get a second chance. And I'm going to tell you about mine.

It all started this morning. I didn't get very good sleep last night, so I ate three caffiene mints (1 cup of coffee's worth of caffiene each) and logged on. I had noticed that my PvP'in armor had mostly decayed, and now I had to pay through the nose for a new suit. I decided to let my suit go out with dignity, though, so I pulled into Kaadara to takea mission on a Rebel Jedi. After getting a wound heal/buff from the guy who does that AFK in the starport (props to him, BTW), I launched my Arakyd and found my mark. He was on Dantooine, which is a planet that makes me /cheer, because anyone on it is generally a grinder (or really enjoys strange purple ground.)

I landed at the MO and quickly launched a seeker once I got out of visual range. My mark was smack in the middle of two player cities, obviously grinding his little Jedi head off. I immediately saddle up and ride. I find the guy, who will remain nameless for his sake, on his bike at the corner of a lake. I didn't see he was on his bike at first though, so I KDed him, snared, and attacked a bit before he started to get away on his speeder. Of course, this wasn't what I regretted, although I really should have blew his speeder before I started. ANYWAY, I pulled out my BARC and followed. When I got within range, I popped his speeder and we continued on foot for a while. I think he tried to go into a house but couldn't because of the TEF during the chase. But eventually, his Force Run outlasted my Burst Run, and my seeker reported him as getting away.

Of course, I've dealt with lots of runners before, soI BARCed my way up to him. He seemed to pause near this group of rebels who were grinding. I took the opportunity to blow his second speeder and engage him there. I was smoking him like a fine cigar and got 2 incaps when he said he wanted to pay me off. He originally proposed 150k -- I said bump it up to 200k and you have a deal. That's when I started to feel pretty bad. And although I'm ashamed to admit it, I took the money and left. Yes, I took a payoff... and for only 200k!

As I BARCed my way out, the guilt really hit me. I didn't follow the honorable route and DBed -- I was bought out by a Jedi! A Rebel, too! And for only 200k!I had dropped the mission, so I couldn't come back and kill him... and besides, I'm not like that (once I make an agreement, I don't go back on it.) Very shamed (and a little sad), I went back to Kaadara to try another. After buffing and launching the probe, my target was on Dantooine. I followed the same procedure, but didn't want to get too close, so I kept my distance. Eventually, I see the WP jump half-way across the planet to the MO.

I shuttle in, and find my mark buying a ticket or something... and guess who it was? The Jedi who paid me off! I was filled with glee as I KD'ed and incapped him. Of course, he wasn't so gleeful. While he was incapped, I told him how bad I felt that I took the payoff. He got up, so I incapped him again. He offered to pay me off AGAIN, but I told him that I couldn't do it. When he got back up, I did a triple incap. I got 188k from the kill.

This is just to remind you that, from time to time, you DO get second chances. I got to replay my error and I came out feeling much better that I did the right thing (and 388k richer.) So remember... good things DO happen to good people.

"As I BARCed my way out, the guilt really hit me. I didn't follow the honorable route and DBed -- I was bought out by a Jedi!"

You speak of an honorable DB, but then go on about triple incap. The first engagement was also leading to triple incap. The honor is where?

Also, though in your story you claim to have deleted the mission, gotten a new one and it happened to be the same guy, I have my doubts. But only because your story had so much "honor" and nobility in it in the first place. More likely that you got your pay off and went back for the kill after the Jedi let his guard back down.

He kept getting up before I could land the DB the second time. The first time, he slid like 30m away from me.

And I can assure you, this story is completely honest. He still had vis because I didn't kill him the first time, so I was able to pick his mission the second time.

Also... why would I have waited until he "let his guard down"? It was already obvious that I could kill this guy, and he paid me as he was incapped in front of me. If I wanted to kill him, I would have done it then, instead of wasting my time to go back to Naboo and then back to Dantooine. That would also be betting heavily on him not logging inside his house.

The Triple Incap is the New DB by dev error in design not player choice. I am a rifleman and it is difficult to DB a mark not impossible but difficult. The Triple Incap is a weapon that we have to use in order to get the job done. Plus the only honor ( i hate throwing this word around)was to himself to the mark.

I too have picked up the same Jedi mark in back to back missions. It is not impossible.

Triple incap all of them. There are too many ifs after the first incap. I have had jedi get up before my DB timer ran its course, heal and send me to the cloners. I have gotten up after the first incap and healed and turned the tide of battle. I have had several jedi marks triple incap me. Not once did I feel it was a form of griefing. All of the marks that tripled me bowed or said good fight afterwords. This is commonplace now not a griefing tactic like in the past.

Thanks!

(I pulled his mission again this morning and killed him. He's not happy.)
