Sorry all, but I have to say it, many of you (won't say all because there is a great deal of BH here that want to talk business) have gotten hung up on Jedi complaints. First of all, if this were really SW, you'd have to deal with their power and their tactics, whatever they might be....I don't think that it would work to complain to Some Mystical Devs to make the force weaker or jedi easier to kill. Second, we should be occupying ourselves more with finding ways to beat them... Not saying what they are doing isn't wrong, but the Devs will fix it in their own time no matter how much we complain, so better to use that energy productively. I mean c'mon now, we're the only profession in the game with the power to PvP almost at will, which is exactly 1/4 of the reason I became a BH, why not use that to our advantage and enjoyment.

To the question though:

I'm currently MBH / MC / CM 4-0-0-0. Í've noticed that carbines are just what they used to be before the CU: Not as powerful or as much ranger as a rifle, not as much control or speed as a pistol. Only instead of being the great mix of the two that they were supposed to be, they are just (at least from my experiance) sub-par. Will they ever be the crowd-control the docs said they would be? or should I cut and run to rifles / pistols?

Carbines are exactly what you said they are, they have more stat changes than rifles and less than pistols, they have more damage than pistols but less than rifles, they are amedium between damage and target control but being a medium means that they aren't great at either. What I hear you saying is you want power and target control so go Master Rifles, Master Pistols, BH 4310, with this template you will loose a little melee defence, some BH specialsand your healing ability but it will give you the combat specials you seem to be wanting.

What I'm actually getting at is that Carbines have a lot of good specials, but none of them really work correctly...I know that I could be better off with MR / MP / some BH, but I do want MBH... my question really boils down to this: Carbines will get fixed... again.... someday....but until then, is it worthwhile to switch to another prof?

About Carbines being a medium, if they had their specials working, then they would be a medium, but without them, carbines are just slow pistols and underpowered rifles.

All of the carbine specials are working

Do you consider it working when dizzy / blind / stunned only land 20% - 40% of the time and when they do, they don't do anything for their entire 30-60sec duration (thats IF they don't use recoveries)?

Do you consider it working when you KD an opponent and they are back on their feet in a second?

1) No but that is the same for every profession not just carbineer.

2) Yes, when the devs gave us a KD recovery special they designed it to work like that and again it isn't limited to carbineer.
