Thread: Is Master BH a must. Comment on BH template considering publish 19 changes
I dont have much experience with the game, so I have several questions concerning my template. I am considering going MR MCM and BH 4000 ( or 3010 for KD). I like MR better than MBH because it gives you slightly better accuracy and speed and some all around good combat moves. Is it necessary to be a MBH to be effective against our toughest opponents ( jedi)? Are there major drawbacks with not going MBH?
I am considering choosing MCM for several reasons:
1. Heals. However, heals from a MBH MR CM 4000 would be just as effective.
2. Damage. Theoritically, DOTS with Rifle attacks should do more overall damage than most ( all?) other forms of attacks by Bounty Hunters with different templates. A Bounty Hunter with the template I proposed will do slightly less overall damage with his rifle than a Bounty Hunter with MBH MR pistols 0404 because of the decreased accuracy (-100), speed (-50), and lack of adv critical. However, even if this decrease in rifle damage is 35%, the 2 DOTS which do about 600 damage every 9 seconds, should outdamage the MBH MR P0404 overall damage in the long run. This is purely conjecture and I have no empirical evidence. Can anyone correct me if I am wrong in assuming this? Are other BH templates with Commando or CH more effective damage dealers than my proposed template?
3. Crowd Control. MCM receive a nice Mezz like ability called Improved paralyze. The ability makes target unable to perform actions for about 10 seconds, but breaks when target receives damage. The ability can be reapplied and its on a fast timer, 15 seconds I believe. Paralyze ability is usefull to stop a jedi from escaping, to prepare a sniper shot, to heal, to kite, to escape, and to debuff.
4. De-buffs. This is perhaps the strongest selling point for MCM, especially considering the upcoming changes to jedi healing. MCM can snare, reduce attack speed, reduce target's ability to resist state effects, cause hemorrhage which reduces target's action regen, and traumatize which reduces target's mind regen. The last two seem to be especially useful post publish 19 since Jedi healing will have an action/mind cost. Its impossible to determine the actual utility of the last 2 debuffs since the penalty to action/mind cost remains to be seen. However, any ability that reduces a Jedi's healing capacity is crucial.
The information presented here concerning the effectiveness of the MR MCM Bh 4000 is purely conjecture since I have very little experience. Please comment or correct any of my observations.

As a pistoleer I love being in close to the jedi, I stay as close as I can with them, even when i get distance it is in my mind to get them close so I can use my skills. I am sure it can be done though, if you practice and learn all your MCM skills you will be very effective.
Not a must have buta good complement, since it hassome advantages, specially the fact one gets significant adds to general ranged speed and accuracy, and decent defenses to ranged and meleeby mastering BH.
