Thread: Ok new to the BH
Well you can keep Rifle and level it to Master, fits good with MBH, i advice you to dabbel into Carabine (improved crippling strike) and Pistole (improved stopping shot)
Which Weapon , Advacned Laser Rifle, T21 or Heavy Lightning Rifle, where the Heavy Lightning Rifle has the possibile highest damage (but only +40 Electricity damage).
That only counts when you take Master Rifleman to MBH.
BH mixes well with almost any profession, as long as that prof isnt borked. you're safe going w/ one of the 3 elite ranged profs, rifles, carbs, or pistols. Many BH's will swear by Combat Medic too as you will gain A) really good heals B) additional states C) another bar of HAM to use when action runs low (mind). with BH you get a decent set of states to apply to them, but your selection will be augmented by Stopping Shot (pistol), Startle Shot (rifle), or....well, i dont pay much attention to carbines, sorry. anyway, the proper mix of profs can give you 2 1/2 elite professions, so you'll have plenty to choose from.
BH gives you Assault Armor certs (high kinetic resists), Rifle gives Recon (high enery resists), and CM, Carb, Pistol will give Battle Armor (cross between both assault and recon). at least i think you get battle from those; i could be a little off. some BH's will tell you to hunt jedi with Recon armor or die, others will say you can use assault and be just as effective. whichever theory you hold too, you'll get to choose which armor typeyou'll want to use.
weapons depend on what prof you mix in. High Capacity Scatters seem to be good, as well as the quest-givenProton Carbine. i've been hearing both good and bad things about the new Lightning Rifle that is certed at MBH (seems to be dependant on the weaponsmith that made it for you) bye and large, the weapon you use will be determined by the other master box you take.

Being that your brand new and will need to get on the learning curve, I suggest getting smuggler 4000 for last ditch. I just recently built a secondary toon with the ultimate pistols template so that I could play around with last ditch. It is extreamly effective if used right.
I am not a rifleman, nor have ever been one, nor want to be one, but with rifles getting a min range > 0 post pub 19 you might want to take that into concideration. With my experiances in BHing, I have found that much of the fight ends up within the rifles min range, thus making rifleman not as beneficial.
My temp is as followspreCU and postCU. It hasn't let me down. MBH/MP/MM/Novice Carbs/FS ranged speed/FS ranged acc/FS melee Def/FS ranged Def. Plus I have some wasted Skill Points in other FS stuffand wish Iwould haveused the SP's in carbs for crippel shot.I primarily use my pistol and bring out the proton carb if needed, to either lay damage outside saber throw range and heal, or to root the runner. The proton carb generally hits for ~80% of what my pistol hits for, which I am more than happy with.
I hear a lot of benefite coming from CM and am tempted to use skill points from the rifle branch of marksman but am still undecided.
so how do you know wich armor is wich and whats better
also i just masterd riffles so far and i have like 43 points left should i go with medic typ stuff or marksman stuff
