Greetings friends,

I am new and just starting the bounty hunter profession. Can some established players please post their thought as to the best BH template currently available? Thanks for all the help.

BH + anything isn't the best template. Unless you're in it for the bounties (which you aren't you don't have investigation) you're wasting your time mastering scout & marksman.

I like cheese.

Yeah BH is good for nothing. But yet for some reason i mastered it.

I think i mastered it more out of anger of investigation being so boring

and the rituals that fade away, and the roses that cease to be laid, and it's clear to me that we're one foot in a very shallow grave

Right now Rifleman/TKM/Fencer is darn near unbeatable, if thats what you want. Any combo with Rifleman or TKM or fencer/swordsman is very good. In fact there are dozens of better PvP templates out there that I would choose if I solely wanted to be good at PvP. Of course the coming combat redesign is supposed to change all of that.....the defense stacking that is. But theres plenty of templates that spend all 250 SP on combat related skills. Not wasting basically all of Master Scout.....

Of the two choices, I would prefer the Master Carbine just for chargeshot, crippleshot and the accuracy bonus. Search on post made by TheWildJedi, she has done some great work documenting her tests with how shes dabbles her leftover SPs.

My template decimates all...

BH 4040

Smuggler 0040

Pistoleer 0001

I have so many options...

buffed opponent? Eyeshot

TKM? Lowblow, Panic Shot, Last Ditch, Last Dicth

Jedi? Investigation 4...

'nuff said...

Obviously you guys with Rogue/ Expert BH havent fought a Master Rifleman/ TKM/ Pikeman? They are almost un- touchable no matter your accuracy. PanicShot = miss Lowblow = miss Last Ditch = miss EyeShot = miss Torsoshot = miss. So really nothing with BH is uber with defenses stacking like they are atm.

If you like to stay buffed at all times do the carbine combo, the unlimited dizzy kd will kill everthing. But if you don't like relying on a doc, you should go for the pistol combo for a more rounded template.

I'm so sick of everyone griping about the TKM Rifleman combo. Yeah it's good, but it's not the end all to pvp. You guys might have to get a weapon that has been experimented for accuracy and some power ups. Oh well. Master Bounty Hunters are gimped, i'll give you that, but the dabblers still kick all kinds of butt.

I also have the BH/Smuggler/Pistoleer template. It is amazingly powerful, especially when u get the mark on their back. Last ditch rocks. I would advise against putting your pts into the pistol spd (pistoleer) tree and instead put them into pistol marksmanship (pistoleer). I did both ways and the extra spd isn't even noticable since I shoot at the spd cap with just the spd mods from BH pistol 1-4. The increased accuracy though does make a lot of difference. Basically with the increased accuracy I can attack from 64m and still get my specials to stick instead of having to run up <20m before I fire. The novice smuggler ability to slice locked containers is nice also. I'm not sure, but I heard smugglers also have an advantage when searched for the upcoming Imperial Crackdown.

Well, nothing can hit a defense stacker at the moment. I'm thinkin' of giving up my investigations line to get go up the pistoleer's dodge defense line. As for pistol accuracy, I think you may just have a point. Unfortunately, without the investigations line, my jedi hunting days will come to an end...

DarthRoscoe,

Yes, I don't do much PvP. There is just too much cost involved, especially if I can't hit what I'm attacking. You mentioned you did do PvP with this template, would you mind giving me some pointers on what you found to be effective? I just dropped marksmanship 4 and 3 to pick up inv. 1-3. I picked up a jedi bounty and started jotting down names of jedi, but finding one person out of thousands of players spread out over like 9 planets is darn near impossible. I did it though because it gives me the RPG aspect of a BH anyway. I hope whatever the devs do to balance out the combat works so I can get into the GCW more.

Once I master BH I plan to do a BH 3440/ Carbineer 0432 template. Not exactly sure how manyskill pts Ill have left, I might be able to go Carb 0442. Anyways, this seems like it will be pretty dominant. I will have plenty of accuracy to hit the uber templates, a bunch of counterattack which will add some nice defenses, and charge shot which is essential to my character. Also, Ill still be able to hunt jedi! The only downfall will be no sprayshot, but I dont have it now and am still doing pretty good, so I think Ill be able to survive without it. I rarely use the LLC and that is my main reason for not keeping MBH. LLC 1-4 seems like a huge waste of skill pts if Im not going to use it, ever.

If anyone has a similar template I would be interested to hear how it works.
