Thread: Is this right??? Jedi can run and hide in factional base?

I was fighting a Jedi who was probably low on force from a constant stream of BH who was after him. (He was PvPing late at night...his fault) So during the fight, as I amSHOOTING at him...he proceeds to run into a factional base. HMMM...is this fair??? It's one thing if they run...you can chase them. But if they can just run into a building like that while still under TEF...why don't all Jedi grind near factional bases so they can hide. Anyways...just needed to blow off some steam.

If you're declared, you're allowed in factional bases too. The Jedi isn't going anywhere. Call in some friends to handle the NPC's while you take the Jedi.

Oh and another thing....I'm pretty new to BH and PvPing in general but the strangest things happened on this particular mission. 1) the Jedi was constantly KDing me...I mean if I wasn't rooted...I was on my back. I was never able to clear 30m and I could never KD him back. And then there was his "popping" up in front of me when I was running. I have a Dell XPS Gen 2 notebook and cable and was fighting well outside a city on Lok...so lag shouldn't have been an issue. From other experiences on missions...I have never seen this "popping" behavior. (Even when fighting a mark in the middle of PvP action on Theed on a Friday night.) Just wondering if there aren't some other issues I'm not aware of. I don't mind losing (I onlykill about 20% of my marks) but there seems to fishy with this one.

again more whining jesus christ. if you were being chased by someone wouldnt you run into a house, iv ebeen frustered with the jedi running in houses but its LEGIT tactics. i know i would run into one if i was being chased. same goes for a faction base.

That's the key right there. If you're rooted, you can't take any action. If you're knocked down and then rooted, wait for the Jedi to hit you before you try knockdown recovery. You can be rooted, knocked down, and then rooted again. Last time I thought weird stuff was happening in PVP, I checked my combat log and everything worked the way it was supposed to. Jedi are usually quick to get back up because they're expecting the BH to use the knockdown shot every chance they get.

Are there a lot of player-placed structures in the area? The worst lag I get is going into player cities.

Thanks for the feedback....it's nice to get some constructive posts instead of flamers and trolls. I just want to learn from every loss so I can not make the same mistakes.

wahhaa i couldnt kill him because he ran into a faction base. You arent supposed to be able to get a jedi 100% of the time. Im sure you kill plenty, this one was just lucky he was enar a faction base

Yeah....just a stroke of good luck on his part......pretty observant of him really....whats the chances of him being combative and near a base when you struck....if he thought he could take you and came at you almost as good a chance you could drag him into one of yours....now that would be a welcome sight,if not probable tho.

I was Neut for a good while, but once a Rebel jedi did this to me I went Rebel and just havent found time to quit

Here is the list I follow in this situation.

1)Hunt your own faction and then when your target complains explain 1 bad apple ruined it for the whole bunch.

2) Always have a bank of faction saved so you can switch either way when needed.

3) Wait for the Jedi to make a move (aka wait 24 before you try again)

4 - 999) A lot of other stuff

1000) Wait for the dev's to fix it.

Grieving the forums, more fun than playing the game
And it loads faster too!
