Depends on what you're doing. If you're hunting Jedi you should get as good energy layered battle armor you can find. Then have it Armor Break sliced.
If you're into PvE you might be better off with primus layered assault or primus layered battle...

BH armor is assault and RIS is battle armor. You'll be able to get RIS with around 7.2k energy resist (BH armor would only get around 6.2k ER) with energy layers. RIS also got really high condition. If you've got the money, RIS would probably be your best choice...

I mess around in 6k resist Marauder myself. Slap on a PSG and the Energy defense is quite good. Kinetic is a pain though..have to watch out for that.

But other than that,like everyone has said, for Jedi, get some good Energy layered armor with 75% Armor Break slices, and for your PvE encounters, grab a set that is well rounded, just in case you run into a buzzsaw NPC.

Padded armor. Get it with 7k en. The kin will be low, but against Jedi, it works great. You're only a few % points off from 8k ubese. Put a 75% AB slice on all parts. And preferably, black padded armor.
