Thread: Noob Question: Inv Tree????

I've been a MBH since pre-cu soo when i ask this don't be surprised, lol
My friend is trying to get mbh, he wants to know how to begin getting bh xp to start the investigation branch, like i said i've been a mbh for soo long i don't have any idea how to start but to get xp i know you can slice opponent factional bases for 1k bh xp, but i don't think he can do that till 2xxxx. if anyone else has any input on how he can start the inv tree plz let me know, i'll pass it on......thanks

True that he cant slice bases until 2xxx, but what he can do is get the 1000xp for 2xxx all in one shot. im pretty sure you cap at 1000 investigation xp, which leaves you enough xp to be able to slice bases (correct me if im wrong). so with that said, pick a day where you have nothing to do, wake up at 6 am, unplug the phone and begin grinding.

Well i guess thats his question, how do you start grinding the investigation tree for bh xp?

Go to Doaba, Corellia....the BH terminal w/ Novice BH informant are within 150m of each other. All marks will spawn on Corellia, only takes the ones within 2k distance to cut down on travel time and maximize xp. You will cap Invest XP @ 6k which is enough to get 2xxx then you can start the base slicing grind. Dont learn Invest 1 or 2 until you cap XP at 6k.

Well as a Novice Bounty Hunter he should be running missions out of Coronet on Corellia as the Terminal and Spynet Operative are located within mere meters of each other. He can cap on Investigation Experience here and train both Investigation 1 and 2 at the same time if I remember right. Afterwards he should head to Kadaara on Naboo for the rest of his training. So far as the slicing bases part- I never did that myself so have no idea how that works.

Agree. Pick only the missions that are in a city - doesn't matter which city. Go for the xp cap for Inv xp, it will save you a lot of headache. I think you can only get xp from sliced bases once every 24hrs.

Running BH marks for XP is WAY too slow for the Invest 3 & 4 grind. Slicing bases is easy and took me less then 3 hrs to find the 28 bases needed to get the necessary XP. Just had to use /find reb or /find imp to get the nearest base, ride around the planet till you find them, usually they are in a complex of 2-4. You need the ones without turrets since they have to be taken down before you can enter. Just run into the base, use /tar uplink to find the terminal, take incap and then slice while incap. Instant 1k Invest XP for 30 seconds of work. Get outta there and go to next base. Save the planet hopping and droid calling for MBH if you wanna do that. Take the easy route till then

Its 1K XP from each single base every 24hrs. Find 28 bases on your server, 28K XP, enough for MBH. On Bria it took me around 3hrs or less to get all the XP from slicing since you cant ride more then 1500m without running into a base on some planets.

So this isn't considered wrong to do? I'm going for MSmug/MBH. I got up to Inv 3 on bounties alone (I didn't mind, more slicing loot for me ) and then I heard about how you can get 1k XP for slicing bases. I tried it on two bases but didn't keep searching as I wasn't sure if this was considered okay to do. I figured it may be frowned upon since I'm only slicing that terminal and not working with a group to bust the base. But if it's perfectly fine I'll go that route. Heck I've had the combat XP for the master box already for the longest time now

Nobody cares about PvE bases since they dont cost a dime anyways, you get 2 free with every PvP base purchase I believe. Slice away.

Don't go to Doaba - go to Coronet. Pull up your planetary map and find the Coronet Capitol - right in front of it are a pair of fountains, and next to the fountains you will find a mission terminal and a novice BH informant within 6m of eachother. This way you can open your datapad, planet map and mission terminal windows, take missions and converse with him and see instantly where they are, just keep dropping and retaking until you get one in a city, all without having to move one step.
Using this method you can cap out your xp in a couple of hours... then train investigation 2 and find 5 or 6 bases, slice the terminals to get inv 3. Once you get that, I'd honestly advise grinding it manually, as you'll be getting some decent loot at this point.
