Bounty Hunter Archive

I'm driving through Coronet the other night, and I decide to go hunt a bounty. I travel up to the terminal, and some other hunter is there also looking. I suggest we join up, and I pick the first large mark I could find (200k.) She gets the same one, and we get the biosig and such.

Arakyd reports the target is on Rori. So I hop into my Y-Wing and go to Rori (damn planet.) My tracker droid had his last position just near a player city. My planetary seekers showed him moving south of that city -- obviously doing missions. So we both shuttle to the nearest city and ride in. As we get fairly close (500m), he goes back into town, probably to get more missions. We were coming from the north, the last WP we had when he was grindingin the south. We just kept on driving and waiting a while out from the town.

Next thing I know, he's half-way across the planet, about 600m from the nearest town. We go into that town and shuttle to a city near the spot. I go in the shuttle, my friend follows up a little while later (to make it look like we're not hunting together.) I get to the town, when the mark shows up back in his player city, right at the shuttleport where my friend was. So I go back to the first town in the north, while my friend waits a little for the next shuttle.

Then BAM, after a few seconds, he's in Nashal and he's no longer on Rori. I go to Nashal myself and launch an Arakyd. It reports him... as on Rori. Specifically, in the hallway of the Starport. So I go there and he's nowhere to be found. A planetary seeker reports him as standing right where you would stand if you just got off a shuttle. And he's standing there... LD... and my friend is LD next to him. I can't attack him, though. In a second, I can, and I start unloading on him. He lost his LD just beforeI attacked.I had him down in a few shots, while my friend's toon disappeared from being LD.

Of course, I got the deathblow, but what was up with the offplanet/onplanet thing?
