Pulled from the Artisan forum:

Ranged Powerups: (+ Better, - worse) Gained at: andComplexity

Burst Focusing Muzzle (+Wounds, -Action costs) Eng-I 14
High Powered Barrel (+Damage, -Speed) Novice 5
Reinforced Stock (+Action costs, -Accuracy) Eng-IV 14
Tactical Grip (+Speed, -Accuracy) Novice 9
Tactical Scope (+Accuracy, -Speed) Eng-II 9
Tuning Coupler (+Elemental Damage, -Normal Damage) Eng-I 5

Most people use eithera damage (high powered barrel), speed (tactical grip), or SAC (reinforced stock) PUP. It really depends on the weapon you are using and your associated mods.

Now can I install these PUPs on my weapon myself, or do I need to find someone (i.e. a weaponsmith) to do it?

You install them yourself. Aritsans craft them, you buy and install.

Additionally you can only use one PUP at a time... and if you take a pup off a gun you lose any remaining 'uses' the pup had.

to intall a pup on a weapon, simply drag it over on top of the weapon you wish to power up

OK sorry guys, please don;t hate or flame me for asking this stupid question but I have to ask, becaue I honestly don't know. I started playing again in JUly and just now am getting ready to really start getting some good equipment for hunting PVP.

What, and how, do you get your ranged weapons PUPed? I keep hearing and seeing people with 1k damage weapons that are clearly PUPed (and I think there are other acronyms for weapon upgrades?). All I know how to do is get a slicer to slice for you.

Sorry if that's really noobish, I just really want to know. Thanks!

Crafters make PUPs, usually can find some on vendors, i personally use SAC pups most often, especially on my nyms, but when my guild crafter finishes making his speed ones ill put a speed on my SAC capped PVE gun
