visit your local DE

it is simply a droid that when given the command, explodes causing damage to any nearby attackable targets

It does just what you think a "bomb droid" would do -- it blows up, causing damage to all legal targets within a certain range of it.

Not really a mysterynow is it!?

Bomb:

Pronunciation: 'bäm
Function: noun

1 a : an explosive device fused to detonate under specified conditions

Droid: syn:robot

Pronunciation: 'rO-"bät, -b&t
Function: noun

1 a : a machine that looks like a human being and performs various complex acts (as walking or talking) of a human being; also : a similar but fictional machine whose lack of capacity for human emotions is often emphasized

One could surmise that a Bomb Droid is:

An explosive device fused to detonate under specific conditions, built into the "body" of a machine that looks like a human being and performs carious complex acts (as walking or talking) of a human being.

In other words.... it's a machine that will blow a target to kingdom come.

They're good on NPC marks! But absolutely hilarious to use against a Jedi. Especially a Master Defender. Don't waste your credits on them against Jedi.

I'm an MDef/MPowers and I had one BH (Luhzren) who uses them on me when he hunts me and It's just absolutely hilarious. Does just no damage. And if, by chance, it does damage, it's easily taken care of by Force Infusion.

They're good against NPCs though.

And... at 90-120k a pop for 59-60 level droids... it becomes VERY costly to waste them.

You mean droids are level 59-60? I swear the cap was 30.

1200 damage is ok on those Jedi not running force powers.100 damage on a Master Defender makes them worthless.

Rather use a combat droid for an extra dot and the medical bonus. If you REALLY want to put a bomb droid to good use...use it in MO. Have it follow a Jedi and start the ticker. Funny stuff.

Not really worthless, they just take some time and effort to use.... I try to get the mark down to about a quarter, then hit them with paralyze.... the trick is to not have dot's going, and to disarm your weapon right after, seeing as how damae breaks paralyze. Then, I call the droid out, chase, and detonate it, they can't attack it, the jedi is paralyzed.... it stinks to stand there and watch the countdown, when you can't even heal...

Suppose thats some good use of a bomb droid. Not CM so don't get the chance to try that out. Sounds like fun though.

Do you wait until their auras are about to drop off before you paralyze?

I try to wait till the buffs wear out, but it really comes down to luck. The trick is to fight fora while, constantly pecking away at health. the paralyze lasts a few seconds (10-15, I'm not sure) during that time, they can't re-activate any buffs, so some of the quickies will drop during the paralyze.... I tried to look for the flashing buffs, but it's too hard for me to concentrate on that many things. It's not too big of a deal if you freeze him, and if it's not time to blow him up, just keep hitting him, he'll barely even notice. You can try again in 45 seconds or so. Just watch the mind.....
