Knee-cap shot
There are others for other professions... but that is the one for BH.

With regard to using skills in other professions - So long as you have the ability, you can use it with any weapon you're certified for. For example, if you have the knee-cap shot from Rifleman or the version in Carbineer (forget it's name, possible Crippling Shot) you could use a pistol to pull off these moves, so long as you're certified to use it.
These shots are pretty useful when kiting (running around like a loon
) - with reasonable terrain negotiation / mitigation of armour hindrances should you wear any, you can stay out of melee range of your target quite well.

Yup, I would die w/o my root from pistoleer! :-P

I've not used my root much on npc BH marks, as they tend to be equipped with guns... found much better success with the Smuggler Panic shot and Concussion shot, along with Underhand shot. But for creatures and player marks it's a useful tool

For me my root and snare is much needed. My armor is layered to 8080 Energy, and they always seem to pull a pistol that does kinetic damage. So I have to keep them far enough out to switch weapons! :-P Otherwise I mainly use it against critters & in pvp

Ah, I don't really bother with armour, messes up my hair and it's a pain taking time out of hunting to get it re-styled

I got this armor specially for Jedi hunting. 8080 Energy resist, and a 75% armor break slice...

That's tasty stuff. Do you know exactly how much damage it will mitigate?
Eg do you have any cool examples of before and after hits for us?

Stopping Shot.
I posted a thread on this specific attack and how useful it is here:

Stopping shot is the only reason that I keep any pistoleer...
