I left SWG in May of 2004. This was right around when JTL hit the market. I came back recently and loved the ability to respec. So I became a Bounty Hunter. I read alot of message about how to respec my character and tried combinations I had not heard of used before. So I hope this post can help some people out on how to base your template for your Bounty Hunter.
MBH/Master Creature Handler/medic 0/0/4/0
Experience: I wanted to use this template because I found it to be very rare. The only kill I had with this template was I sent my CL 50 Rancor after the JEDI while he was attacking animals. It took a few minutes for him to realize that I was attacking him as well. Another Jedi said I gave him a good fight because he thought a Rancor Spawned near him.
MBH/MR/PISTOLEER/0/0/0/4
Experience: I found the cover ability not living up to it's hype as I was almost always detected.
MBH/MP/CM
Experience: The root is not as effective as I would have liked it to be. 1/3 chance for it sticking.
MBH/MCM/P0/0/0/3
Experience: At close range I got chewed up. Even with stims and shots.
MBH/MASTERDOCTOR/marks 0/0/3/4
Experience: I can go toe to toe with a full template Jedi. I died a few times and then I learned how to play him. If done right, you will always outlast his mindpool. Just make sure you are buffed. And always heal when at 50%. That way if you are knocked down, you can recover and heal.
Now please keep in mind that I may have not played the best bh on all the templates, but for an old newby respeccing, I found MBH/MD to be the best combination. All my battles were fought with decent composite armor and with my MBH/MD I used a scatter pistol.

My template is MBH/ MCarbineer/ Pistoleer 0404/ FS Accuracy
I have killed two full template jedi, but I have to surprise them usually having them walk into a trap. With a good carbine I can hit a master defender usually using just some detrium pyro and a crispic. My accuracy is remarkable but I only have stims to back me up besides my weapons. Snares, roots, blind, bleeds, and knockdown become your tools. If I'm not in control of the fight, for example I'm rooted and the jedi is using saber throw, I can use my disarming shot to mess with their healing macros, it's truely a life saver. Also supression fire stacks with crippling shot, so this becomes a sort of root as well.
