Thread: what do you guys do about adk'ing armor?
I know some AS's who charge over a mil for a Capped Energy Layered suit of armor, where as I sold mine for 600k(was 7914 energy, 5900 or so Elemental, and 3900 or so kinetic) of course if you're buying specialty armor like R.I.S. or you're getting a 4 socket set, that's a different story, but in my opinion, just get some Pre-CU boots/gloves for AA's, throw a couple into your bracers(the not as good ones) and then equip a bandolier, belt and shirt for CA's. Doing this will mean you never have to ADK your suit, and i can guarentee that unless you are paying way too much for CA's and AA's, you can get +25 speed and accuracy, +25 medical warfare for all the MCM's out there, and and +25 medical eff for easily under the price of one adk(again, on wanderhome anyway, where last i checked ADK's were worth 25 mil or so)
really, every time a BH tells' me they adk'd a full suit of RIS or something like that, i laugh because it's so easy to get the parts to make the suit again(especially seeing that you'll never have to get boots or gloves again, and probably won't need to get bracers/biceps too soon either)
Once youve been a TKM, youll know how nice it is to never worry about armour decay. It really does take a load off your mind when you know that all the hits your taking wont have to be paid for later.
But i personally think that ADKing armour is a bit pointless, unless like akas youve got 50million worth of SEAs in it you can just replace the whole suitfor a fraction of the cost of one ADK
The TKM armour is nice, but its got me doing a lot of maths, the general melee CA's got for for more a point than aa's (jedi bidders). armour has the ability to be AB sliced which TK doesnt, Battle armour can be layered for energy damage giving a 1000 bonus VS jedi, all in all when capping all my melee mods ADK's on major armour sections may work out cheaper in the long run

The new AB crystal has got me looking at the figures again, as AB slicing Vs's jedi was (before it was broken) going to be the major advantage of the adk'd armour. unfortunately at the moment +25 of a general melee CA mod goes for more than a adk

I do agree that if you can afford to buy 50 mil of AA's/CA's then ya, ADK your armor, but as i said, if you shop smart, a full suit of armor, and the CA's/AA's needed to get you +25 of nearly everything you need, shouldn't cost you more then 20-30 mil, and if you're paying that much you can probably put them on clothing/Pre-CU socketed boots and glvoes so you'll never have to worry about dmg decay, just insurance decay which is easily covered.
Of course that's on wanderhome. To be honest, the extra +25 speed, accuracy, whatever you want to get in SEA's is nice, but really un-necesary as jedi are way too easy to take down now a days. At worst, if you go up against a fully prepaired Master defender, you could be in for a long fight, but with teh dmg you can mitigate, and the way you can kite them, you really only ever have to worry about your target running.
