Thread: I sent this letter to SWG SUPPORT, had enough of BH/DOC Exploiting send one too!
Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing you regarding a number of incidents next to BH Terminals. Twice now while strolling through NPC cities, I have come across groups ofDocs1/2 are afk some are live and exploit the buff system. All are buffing BHs there. AFKbuffing is an exploit in and of itself, but it goes further then that. There is a spot near the the terminals where theBH can stand heal,buff and change clothes with impunity. TheJedi cannot attack the target even though they have very clear line of sight, nor can they sit and leisurely buff before the fight either. I have a screen shot where I am standing nearly on top of the target and still can't hit them.
It is frustrating enough, to know that these players are able to AFK buff the BHsto an advantage, while others attempt to play the game legally, without adding insult to injury by being unhittable as well. Of course, the players performing this exploit have a well devised plan of how to deal with the victims of it. They simply accuse the victim of sucking despite the fact that they've been nerfed to almost equals with this clear disadvantage...funny the victim typically ends up dead which implies the Jedi did indeed have no chance to buff, but hey why let facts get in the way of exploiting This problem has reached epedemic proportions on the Bria server.
I have witnessed the following players on theBria server afk buffingbythe BH terminals:

I have tried killed a couple of these characters while afk and watched themsit and beginbuffing again. Further, I had one tell me that I could not pull his mission and even if i could, could kill him fast enough to make up thephat bankhe was gaining while AFK. Sadly, this is most likely true.
This simply must stop. A solution must be found to end the AFK buffing. Remove the recurssive macro's, make the buffs weaker, whatever it takes. These individuals involved must also be punished to prevent this from continuing.
I have also been warned by more then one of the players that they "know CSRs personally" and nothing will be done. I doubt they have any real relationship with a CSR, but I will not risk it being swept under the rug. That is what has precipitated this letter dirrectly to you at swgsupport.([email protected])
Please, let me know what the plan is for this issue!

afk buffing and afk grinding are 2 totally different things
I dont do either but you would be a fool to compare them

i could have easily written itfor people afk farming faction or loot. and while people have raised those issues before, never to the degree they are up in arms about this jedi thing.

YOu cant have it both ways!
The arument posted by THIS poster is that you dont see Jedi whining about the AFK docs sitting in Kaadraa 24/7 buffing the VERY same BH who are our hunting Jedi.

Yes but LOS exploiting was also mentioned as an issue both in the original post and in the parody above. And this problem needs to be resolved.
Furthermore they can be combined if the Jedi is lucky. I have sometimes hit a mark that is clearly not playing but after maybe 5 seconds they run to the LOS. While macroing is not illegal you are wrong when you say that you can't do both. A Jedi can turn up the volume and go do something else. It's no less unattended gameplay than if you actually go to sleep.
If you have to go up to get to the toilet you'll be gone for maybe 5 minuts. There's really no need to hava a macro for that.

AFK macroing is not an exploit.
Check out the Q and A in the holocron.
Question: Is it OK to go AFK while macroing?
Answer: It is perfectly legal to use macros in SWG.
Then it goes on to say that the only time it is not legal is when you use a third party program to do it.
Using a third party prgram to macro is a bannable offence. However these docs do not need to do that. They are using the ingame macro system and are therefore operating totally legally.
However, as far as the abusing the LOS system goes, yeah. That is an exploit.
