This originally posted in a thread, way on down the first page... was received well, I'm wondering what the rest of the hunters, Sammie, and any devs might think about this?
We all know that Kashyyyk is a playground for new padawans. We all also know that to hunt a padawn on Kashyyyk is in excercise in frustration due to the multiple instance dungeons and the fact that droids do not work.
The communtiy has been calling for droid activation since RoTW first went live. It is evident that the our esteemed development/planning teams will not change the droid situation on Kashyyyk. I propose the following:
SpyNet Operative Functionality
Spynet Operative Locations:
Kashyyyk Spaceport
Ouside the Kwokwir (sp) Forest
Outside Rryatt Trail Entrance
Oustide Myydrill Cave Entrace
Outside Eetayy (sp) Hunting Grounds
Inside the Trandoshan Slaver Camp
SpyNet Operatives would be used in-lieu of droids on Kashyyyk and any other world deemed "Jedi Safeground" in the future.
A player landing on Kashyyyk would access any SpyNet Op on the planet as to their mark's approximate location in the following manner:
SpyNet at the Spaceport - This is the main SpyNet location on the planet. This npcs is very crass and rude, offers little information to the hunter save a general direction of travel. Only offers valid infromation under threat of force or from bribes.
Possible Dialoge: "No, I've never seen anyone of that description, leave me alone" a threaten and/or bribe option appear... "Now that I think about it, I may have seen someone of that description recently" threaten or bribe appear again... "Yes, I remember now, the person you describe left in the direction of [general compass direction]
At this point the BH guesses as the the mark's location, be it an instanced dungeon, a static location on the main map, etc.
The BH goes to the possible SpyNet Operatives through Trial and error with the above dialogue. Upon a succsseful location the npc says:
"Yes, I remember now, not too long ago your mark came through here. They entered the [Insert Dungeon/Area Name]"
Yes, a major coding change, and addition of SypNet npcs would be required. However, I feel that this may be the "fairest" approach to solving the problem of hunting on Kashyyyyk. Anyone else? Comments? Yah or Nah?
