The search engine is down for me so forgive me if this has been asked before. If you use cloak out of range of people (further the 32 meters) then walk up to them (or NPCs for that matter), do you gain visibility?

well i used it with some people around about 3-4 hours ago, so i will find out sooner or later hehe. Still seems ironic that something that hides your presence alerts the bounty hunters you are around.

the range that you need to be from someone to activate it is 20m not 32m. No idea about whether if gives vis or not.

i've been cloaking like mad over the past couple of days. I even was fighting while cloaked in Coronet in PVE. So far, I have yet to have a BH come after me. That may be more because I'm fully tempated and not the paddie-fodder they seem to prefer hunting.
I really like cloak just because it gets me easy access in and out of starports without having to worry about getting jumped. I'm probably going to have to give it up though. <sigh>

I never got onto the terms until I started grouping.
I had been using cloak for days before that. I cloak constantly. If I were to guess, activating it within 32m of an NPC or PC will give you some visibility. Being cloaked within 32m will not. Uncloaking within 32m will.
As I said, that's all a guess.

great thanks! i assume that using a power in the vicinity of someone while cloaked gives you vis. I'm now wondering if i can keep channeling the force to keep it on indefinitely

When I use force cloak while im on the ryyat trail it doesn't seem to use much force,it ticks at 50 or so at a time. When I use force cloak say at coro itticks at200ish force a time is this a bug or does force usage depend on how many plp etc you are hiding from?

more people you are around, the more force it will drain

if I recall correctly it is 25 force to activate and an additional 25 force per person within range (I think range is considered 25m) per tick (don't recall what the tick timer is). So if it's only you nearby when it ticks, it will only cost you 25 force, but if your in coronet with 50 people that's 1250 force per tick.
