LOL 185 pts at Investigation I?!? That's nothing to complain about. You shuld have tried to grind out Investigation pre-mounts and player cities, where you had to grind out 18K xp at 133xp a mark. BH is SOOO much easiser than when we first had it.

No... that's the point. Invest is not that hard.
its still time consuming, and the marks are more difficult to kill.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I suppose mastering the profession 3 times over the last 2 years has given me a different idea of what's hard. lol

Mindspat, I'm doing that too (currently CL31 on Corbantis). I saw a hint for a semi-quick way to grind Investigation. Go to the BH Terminal in Coronet. About 10m away from it is the Informant. You can stand in between the terminal and the informant, take a mission, get the waypoint, and if the waypoint is out in the middle of nowhere you drop the mission and grab another. I usually take the ones that are in the main cities, since I can fly there quickly withmy ship, eliminate the mark and go back to Coronet all in about 5-10 minutes (if that). Most of the time is spent sifting through missions until you find one that doesn't spawn in the middle of nowhere.
Of course this is really only feasible with Invest I-II, I believe.

Thanks for the advice for a quicker grind!
What's funny is as I read down through the replies there's ppl attempting to flame me for "stop complaining" when I specifically said "I can't complain". Seem reading comprehension is so last week on the forums. I'm also surprised I haven't recieved any comments about doing this with NO armor nor do I have any intent to wear armor until after I reach Master Bountyhunter.
Either way, yeah..I'm having a blast with this. I can't wait till I'm able to pull elites and bosses with more regularity.
I have two more levels to train till I'm able to use my 688max dmg DeathHammer with 70 SAC!!!
lol
You've got to love being a noob all over again !!

I think the funnest part IS being a n00b all over again, I definitely agree.
To your armor comment, I don't use any. I have a set of good ubese I pieced together from the bazaar/vendors for under 30k, but I RARELY use it. I have a good Lightning Cannon (the CL30 one), and when I find my mark, I /prone;/aim;/snipershot from 65m, and usually polish them off with a few torso/underhand/root(or snare)/crit/torso. Easy to pull off without armor... EXCEPT when they magically warp on top of you from 65m... GAWD I HATE THAT. Wish I knew what caused it.

Ever since I heard about SWG I always had the intent to either play a smuggler or a Bountyhunter. When the game was in BETA it seemed like neither were a playable profession. I avoided the game until about 9 months after launch to minimize the bugs associated with the game.
Jedi never seemed like they should have been in the game although now they're something of a plauge to the universe. Being a Jedi was NEVER my intent and was the last thing I ever wanted to do in this game.
Ok, 18 months after playing the game and identifying numerous oversights that adversly affected the game play I had decided to dedicate a character to the Bountyhunter profession and what better of a time to do this other then post CU.
Grinding out Investigation is a royal pain! I'm getting 185 points of invesitgation exp per kill regardless of the level of difficaulty. Can't complain since I'm also getting some kick ass loot and it's a nice alternative to the Jedi-Fest which is to eb found at most starports.
I'm lvl 38 now and can't wait to hit 40 to use my capped DeathHammer. This thing is going to pwn!!!
Bh 1/1/0/0
CM 3/0/0/0
Pistoleer 3/1/1/1
Master Marksman
I do not use armor and try to avoid using buffs. My last mark was a lvl 41 elite which put up one heck of a fight! Much fun to be had here.
*note: Jedi involvement in the game is nonexistent. There's no reward for playing the profession. I almost wish I could drop it from my main character.
