Thread: Med droid use?

It seem a lot of ppl are using CM temps that don't include the 4xxx line by using a med droid. Well, my questions are:
1. How do you keep your droid alive versus Jedi and NPC bosses?
2. How close does the droid have to be for it's +110 medical to effect you?
3. How do you get them out for Jedi not in a city?
1. Make a macro to target your droid and use a repair kit. A good repair kit heals close to 2k damage. You can use bactashot or bactaspray also, but I'm a firm believer that doing so hurts you more then helps. You need that mind for yourself. As for the droid, it can take a good deal of damage. I've had some Jedi spend 2 solid minute doing nothing but hitting my droid.
2. You need to be within 15m.
3. It takes 15 seconds to call outside a city. You have to plan for this somehow. Personally I just walk up and drop my droid then fight my mark... most my fights are duels. But you can pull it 280m out and take that long walk to the mark with your droid if you want to ambush people.

If you go to a DE for a custom Droid you can get one loaded down with autorepair modules, so its self heals as well as boosting your heals and adavanced R3 can stack plenty of auto repair modules a combat module and a medic module. Group with your droid to grant it extra protection. Then you simply turn on auto repair module and the droid will heal A LOT of its own damage. It suckes up battery power, but that shouldnt be a big issue

What kind of droid do you have (probot)? Is it able to keep up with you when you are running around?
1. AFAIK droids have ~3500 hps and are CL30. I would think that 2-3 hits would = death for the droid. Do you just keep repairing?
2. TY
3. So basically you forget suprise when you attack this way? Just pull droid, group them, and start if the jedi remains? Do you get a lot of runners?
If using a droid for only healing... go with a R-3, you can also use it in combat too to attack jedi and the 70 or so dmg every second really adds up
with combat the R-3 I make look like this
full combat / defense lvl 30
110 medical rating
100 auto-repair( never made one with out combat module but if did it would have 125 auto repair)
What you do is turn on the auto repair... then recharge your droid before battle... and yes macro for your repair kits... oryou can simplytarget your droid and do bacta toss....
Also if your standing right next to your droid (area attack from jedi) and "tanking" a jedi something is wrong ... you should be constantly moving and using snares to keep a distance.
Also I make DZ-70 with 110 medical full combat and armor.... when you pull them from crate they will come out at 7000 armor for 1 battle then after you store and call it will drop to 1217... so if you wanted to you could buy crates of DZ-70 and call them out for a jedi.. then destroy it after armor is gone.
The armor at 7000 k for DZ-70 works just like our armor (remember to goup) and will absorb a little over half the damage of each shot by jedi.
You could also do the same with adv mouse droids. (i think will check if general or combat).. put in 110 medical a detonation module (likly be 19 power so nothing huge) and lvl 6 armor. This would be a cheap way to go... you could call them 1 by1 in battle. And detonate them at key times for a little extra damage... then call another from the crate. (never made one with 110 medical combat and armor actualy just thought of this.. but will exp tonight to see if they come out lvl 30 and do same dmg as a dz-70 if so you could buy crates of 10 for around 100k and use one for each battle with 7000 armor and doing 70dmg 15x every 20 seconds this would be very effecient way to battle.)

Well, I am a Mpistoleer / MBH so I am pretty much forced within melee range most of the time based on server latency between myself and my mark.
Second, how do you call in combat? you can call an MSE straight into the fight if it is in the crate?
even pistols have 35 meter range... no jedi has 35 meter area attack.,. also you can walk around... making your droid attack from different agle or even behind jedi which will help with area.
Read you second reply, and my original remark is very unlcear sorry about that. (messege this stuff on my server all the time and forgot thatpeople may not know the other stuff I said in mails, etc,)
You donot actually call into battle right from crate....
What you do is "ready your droid unit"after you get one out of a crate (I usually take 2 or 3 out of crate before battle, you need to take out of crate... but must still be a "deed" before your battle).
(note most de are aware of the 1217 bug and put in crap lvl 4 armor... so to get 7000 with DZ or 9000 with probot you need good lvl 6 armor). However fist time you store and recall... armor will be 1217
