Well it seems like you still cant get the name from a seeker droid unless you are 1000m or so away....

Does this happen to everyone? Is this working as intended?

Yep.... sucks. I want the name when I get the initial planet information. That way if it is someone I am not too fond of fighting I can ditch the mission and grab another one without travelling all over the galaxy.

I dont mind getting to the planet... but having to be within 1000m seems odd.

This theory is not consistent. Within 1k always works...but itdoes work occasionally elsewhere. Last night I was about 3k away and got a name back.

Strange. I've never had the seeker name function not work. I typically land in spaceports (because I will always use the same ones) that are 2k, 5k, or even 8, away from the Jedi and it always works for me. Classic example is Endor. When you land and your mark is at the DWB, it works for me from the spaceport.

I have my own theory but nothing solid. Sometimes I wonder if lag causes the identify Target option not to register and it instead just reports the targets location from Track Target option.

one of the problems i see with the Identify working only from within 1000m is that the jedi can see you on the map if he has the radar out to 1028. This happened to me on Dath. My target was out by the prison and i went to 990 meters out from him to Identify him and then went under cover so i would not be on the radar but he saw me anyway and not more than 15 secs after going under cover he was swooping around the area looking for me.

I thought radar distance displayed up to like 250m. I mean you can stretch it to 1028 but I dont think dots will show up that far.

That's weird. I've usually been pretty lucky with getting a name from my seeker, but if they're in the DWB, I can't get a name unless I go down into the bunker to send my seeker.

I've heard a theory about server lines, but I don't think that's it either.

This is true from my experience. The only problem is that if you get within 250 meters first and then ride out to around 1000 meters you'll still show up on their radar. This makes it pretty difficult to perform drive-bys on a target without bringing out their suspicions.
