During, what I like to call the "Great Jedi Purge of Starsider" (like around Publish 12 or so), the Jedi were beginning to overpopulate the server. Me and my two companions essembled a three man Jedi-take-down-crew and killed over 20 Jedi in a matter of a week... just by knowing their hot-spot... the Geo Caves... back when group TEF's were still in, and the BH TEF was bugged and was lost at logging.
Well, the story begins on Ventrilo. A "friend", who I somewhat know personally... he was talking crap on Ventrilo about how he just totalled a six-man gank squad... then he went on to say stuff along the lines of that there is no bounty hunter that could take him down. About an hour later, he started boasting again about how he took out another four man crew that came for him. He started up with his boasting again about how powerful he was.
At this point, I chimed in and told him that he was no match for my crew... just as a joke really. After I said that, he denied it and said that he could take me and my crew any day of the week... so this sounded like a challenge to me. In retrospect, I think he was so full of himself that he was blind to see that he was more or less issueing a challenge.
So I quickly switched Ventrilo channels to talk with my crew. We discussed the hit and decided to go through with it. It was a two man job this time, since the third man had to log. We quickly went to the terminals and picked his mission up...
Now just a little background. I know the mark personally in real life. The guy use to come into my place or work all the time and talk for a little bit. He was a decent guy... noticable a lot bigger and had more body mass (muscle/fat) than I do... and probably had a good half a foot on me.
Anyways, once we got the mission, we disicovered that we were unable to track him because of the "target not online" bug. I quickly hopped channels and listened in on his conversation. He was talking about camping a room with mercs... Bingo, Geo Caves. I switched back to the other Vent and we made our way to the caves.
When we got there, we did our usual thing... perched ourselves up top the hill almost in front of the cave enterence. While there, we got several tells and visits from Jedi in the area... the week prior we killed somewhere around 20 Jedi just at the cave... so word traveled fast about what we were doing.
About two hours pass. Me and my partner chat about various crap on Vent while watching our mark with /tar and examine. We estimate that his buffs must be about to wear off. We cut the chatter as soon as we notice that he was making his way to the top. That usually meant he had about 10 minutes left on the buff. He emerges from the cave, we open fire.
He sticks around and fights us for a little bit before jetting with FR. We try to keep up, but we lose him. Lucky for us I launched a droid just before combat, just incase he ran off. We quickly make our way to his location and engage him again. This time, he sticks and fights for good. The fight was all downhill for him from there. We start busting out our DOT weapons... mind fire pistol, mind poison pistol... combined with Eye shot... he was done for. We quickly got the DB and left the area before "backup" arrived. (and by backup, I mean a group of 19 Jedi... ever since we "checked" them at the cave, dark and light Jedi alike began grouping in large numbers instead of small parties).
Once I'm out in the middle of nowhere with no chance of them finding me, I switch to the other Vent channel that my mark was on. as soon as I get on, my speakers ring with screaming. This guy seriously lost it. The guy who once thought he was invincable now knows otherwise. He begins to cuss me out, calling me a cheater and an exploiter. An exploiter of what, I don't know... I brushed it off as the usual Jedi excuse. The leader of one of the biggest Imperial PA's (at the time) Leader chimed in, just to ask about a price check or something... and the mark flipped out on him for "talking over him"... the mark was quickly ejected from the room.
Everyone in the room was laughing their ass off. They know that I know him in real life and that he lives about 12 miles away (At the time). They tell me I have huge balls for killing him when he's so close... and so big.
But anyways. It just goes to show you... if you're a Jedi and you boast about how powerful you are, you are never safe... not even from your friends.
