Master Marksman is actually quite a weak profession so, although Dant is great for XP, u might be best to stick to corellia.

Pickets, Grrrcats, and similar creature should be do-able with pistol or carbine shots

Avoid rifles as u will not benfit from rifle XP in the Bounty Hunter tree (unless u r planning to add some rifleman tree elements to your template)

While u need combat xp for the BH novice, ill suggest by getting combat xp for this, pick the tree novice pistoleer and carbines to. For this u need weapons xp, which u will gain to. This just gives a little bit more speed and accuracy and few more stronger attacks. U always can drop it later, if u want.

Myself, i leveldup on dath and naboo, get some good ubese armor, usually around 100k a set, if u can afford it. Otherwise stick on corellia as Vileshrew suggested.

thanks guys. At the moment i'm wearing my wookie Hunting Armour and killing Quekers on Dant using my Pistol and carbines as i believe i need XP from them for BH. but only getting about 250 combat XP per kill. so that works out on average to be 1750 combat XP per mission = 22 to 23 queker missions. but with the weapons and skills i have at the moment that will take forever. is there a quicker way.

Doubt there is a quicker way, combat xp is the slowest tree in the ranged profession. U could try some more dangerous missions, or group(solo) up with a few more people, while still taking the same missions, this will give more spawns of the quenkers or other animal's.

OK, maybe I'm missing something, but I've seen tons of players griping about being able to safely grind combat XP. When I was a lowely CL 26 or 27 or so, my favorite spot to grind XP for my Rifles or Carbine was in Kor Vella, outside the Starport, killing the Stormtroopers that spawn there. Not great XP, true, btut all I needed was my Light Lightning Cannon and a good Carbine. As a non FS, I couldn't use any Force Power, Lightsaber, or wear any Robes. Will this still be possible after I get Paddie if I lower my level and use food?

If so, it would offer 0 Visability. Little XP, but what's there would be safe. Eitther that or go hunting outside Korvella in the Wilderness. So it takes longer, so what? Without Vis, there would be no BH's, without BH's, what's the rush?

If not, why not? Does the XP you grind for the FS Boxes HAVE to be with a Saber?

Please enlighten me.

Uh, you don't get a lightsaber or Robe when you become FS. You get it when you become a Padawan.

Furthermore, you need to grind out your 6 FS branches with normal skills. Even after you fill them and you become a Jedi, you can't use a saber to grind FS skills, because you cannot trade Jedi XP in for FS XP.

Sounds to me like you have Jedi and FS mixed up.

Ok, not sure what you're asking here, so let me take some guesses.

First off, once you become a Jedi, you no longer get combat xp. It's all Jedi XP, and you only gain Jedi XP from the use of LS or Powers, thus generating vis when going against NPCs. SO if you're looking to grind Jedi XP (as I'm assuming your post is discussing), you HAVE to use either a lightsaber or use a Powers skill. Your LLC and Carbine will not grant you Jedi XP in any way. Though it might give you Heavy Weapons/Carbine XP and Combat XP, none of this is useful to an up-and-coming Jedi Padawan.

As for your second part; Grinding XP for the village (FS Boxes) requires specific types of XP to be converted based on the FS skill you've unlocked. For most of the FS Defense/Accuracy trees, you're looking at Weapon XP and Combat XP. For the crafting FS trees, you're obviously looking at the different types of Crafting XP to convert. So, depending on what FS trees you wish to have/unlock will determine if your Heavy Weapon/Combat XP will be needed.

Oh, and you won't have a lightsaber when grinding your FS boxes in the village. You don't get that until you complete six FS trees, complete the Exit Quest, and complete trial 8 of the Padawan Trials (crafting your training saber).

Boy I hope this helps you out.
