As you all know, due to the CU many players have left, this has left our cities clogged with houses noone is using,so i thought of this solution, just use the pack-up option for all acounts that have been inactive for 90 days. it won't harm them they can put their house back if they log on again, and if they had vendors they were going down already, or allow the vendors to be packed up with the house ( unlike the current system ) i know that my town looks really bad, because of all the abandoned house, and it's not like they are going to blow up when the the maintinace runs out...because they stopped the fees! ( because of the hurricane ) and even if they had the fees, some of these players had millions of credits, their money will outlast the game...lol. just thought i would share, also posting this on the Jedi (most players), bloodfin, bh, and Dev forum.

thanks for listening

I'm seeing this subject more and more these days and I'm agreeing to it more and more. My opinion is pack up the house once the account has been cancelled for 6 months. SOE needs to realize that packing up the house will not prevent people from coming back, and more importantly, they take care of the people that are paying now rather than thinking about the people that "might" come back.

Does this even remotely have anything to do with Bounty Hunting? Perhaps it would be better in the Politican forum?

A problem associated with removing or packing up the houses is that most cities will go from metropolis status to oupost overnight. And lose their rank based perks like the cloner, shuttleport, medical center, cantina, theater, etc

The good thing about this is that it will allow active REAL cities to finally grow to their potential. It's a double edgedsword you have there....

yeah, that is so....something i hate is the fact that "dantooine" wild, undevolped ( dark appreintice, paperback )is so full of houses you can't drive in a straight line! you gotta zig-zag through all those houses, and the cities are operating at a lvl above what they are

No whats really sad... I checked with the recruiter on talus the other day and there were 957 reb bases and 567 imp bases. Whats sad is the ability to drop this many bases and the insueing npc's that come with them. That I would think would be a huge source of the lag we see every day and that was just talus, a minorly populated planet, cant imagine what dant or theed is like base wise. They need to have a base limit on the planets like say 20 and if you want to drop a base of the opposite faction the base quote is filled, then go take a base down so you can place one of your own faction. Would help alot on the friggin lag.

Every "liveable" planet on my server looks like that now. Even if you did want to start a new city, they are pretty much all capped at the moment, or you cannot find an appropriate spot to put down the city hall.

I think thats a great idea.

Eventually they will have to do something or there wont be any space available anywhere for anything anymore!

I do find myself getting annoyed sometimes having to dodge houses all over the place.
