look at the stats Energy Resistance, and Kinetic Resistance. when you look at armor.
energy is blaster and kinetic is bitey clawy munch munch.
Your basic piece of armor.. without experimentation, mabari is better kinetic. but both types can be experimented on differently... and can end up in all kinds of percentages of damage reduced to whatever attack type. Purchase wisely.

Your asking this question in the weaponsmith part of the forums everone here has choice weapon smith over the other profesions I dont think you will get a well mixed respose here otherthen go weaponsmith . I could be wrong . BUT I would tell you to go with what ever you think would be the most fun for you. The weaponsmith market is a hard one.

I know this is probly been posted about a few times but I cant seem to find the info on it. So here goes, whats better getting a higher creature level (hence better pet) or going for 2 pets (hence getting 2x the points?)

I think it is better to get Mangement III so you can call 2 pets. That way you could get twice the XP. One way would to be to get two low level creatures and hit the mobs outside the city. Once your pets hit the creature then you can attack and gain levels quicker. If you get a higher level creature then you must kill higher level creatures to gain a substantial amount of CH XP.
Just my thoughts

what i did was get the bottom row filled up. 1/1/1/1 then i got management 3 1/1/1/3 then i got two lvl 10 male sawmp cats, and sent them after dewbacks. A couple of good pet stims kept me going for 4 hours. In those 4 hours i not only made close to 100k doing missions, but got enough ch exp to get 2/2/1/3. so for me it was most definitly worth it.

VKs: High HAM Costs
Fist: Low HAM cost
VK: Quick
Fist: Not as quick (Until you get up the Power tree)
VK: Adds a bit of damage, and AP 1
Fist: Doesn't add extra damage, no AP
At TKM (or Power 4, can't remember), you have hit the speed cap. This means you can hit once per second, quickest out of anything. TKM's generally don't use VKs unless they have to because they can't spam specials, the HAM costs are too damaging on them...
If you're gonna spam specials, take off VKs, then put them back on when your gonna just attack normally, thats what I do.
Unequip VKs, apply states, and then KD + UH2 (don't have UH3)
Pop VKs on, hit until dead/states wear off (then loop it back)

You'll do more damage with them, but also eat through more HAM using your specials.
You do decent damage without them, but are losing out on AP1.

It really just comes down to your situation and what you are fighting. Armored opponents pretty much require you to use VK's if you plan on doing any reasonable amount of damage.
