Thread: How many hunt same faction?

i get a decent amount of tells (well mate tells, haha) for doing this, but in my defense, does a bounty have anything to do with the GCW? and is it not true that a Jedi is concidered a criminal no matetr what faction they are tied to?
also, a "restore imperial order" mission that has an imperial jedi as the mark, i beleive is fair game... or am i wrong? LOL. It seems to me when there is an Imperial order to kill an Imperial Jedi... that Jedi "technically" commited treason or an offensive act against the Imp. army/gov't.
oh and it doesnt cut down on base runners
According to Star Wars'ia.... all Jedi are to be destroyed. Now that order was given back in the days of the republic, at the Empire's birth... before the rebellion, before the factions, etc. Unless that order was rescinded, then yes... they are all to be put to death.
I have no issues with Imperials that hunt Jedi of the Empire. That's their perogative. However, my guild is a very PvP intensive guild. We, as a rule, do not hunt Imperial Jedi since later we may call on that Jedi or Jedi's Guild to aid us in PvP against the rebels. We find that there are just too many problems caused, and that our brothers are not willing to help a unit that has assassinated one of their own. For that reason, -=OBS=- will expel any member who hunts a same faction Jedi.
I've got to agree with Ocili here, no one sends hate tells to smugglers, or crafters, or dancer, or healers when they make money from helping the opposite faction. Not to mention the fact that I see rebels and imperials out hunting in the same grind groups all the time. The only time I have ever seen the "faction issue" brought up is when I have killed a Jedi of the same faction. When the Jedi wins, it's never a problem either. Which leads me to the inevitable conclusion that is has absolutely nothing to do with hunting those of the same faction, and has everything to do with the fact that Jedi will use any excuse they can think of to complain about losing a fight, or to devise a scheme to prevent BHs from hunting them. There are numerous guilds on my server that have tried setting up "treaties" to prevent same faction BH hunting, and while they may claim it's for RP, all it's really for is to reduce the number of BHs that can hunt their padawans by 50%.
In my personal opinion, there is nothing wrong with same faction hunting. The BH/Jedi conflict is the only time this RP aspect of the game gets invoked, and to me this takes a lot of the credibility away from the arguement. I would actually go so far as to encourage same faction hunting. If you want to preserve a little more of your first strike ability, same faction hunting can help, most Jedi only get skittish when they see a blue dot approaching on their radar. Show up on their radar as the same faction and you may have a chance of getting much closer before they start getting suspicious.
As always though, it's up to the individual. If you chose not to hunt those of the same faction, that is perfectly fine. The only time I get annoyed is when other people start telling me who I can and can not hunt. If their mission is on the terminals, they are fair game. That's all there is to it.

generally rebel scum for me but I'll throw an imperial mission in there once in a while when things get boring.
who cares about faction anymore anyways

I would, but I haven't alligned myself since the GTEF was removed
But as a general rule of thumb, anyone who says you shouldn't do something for RP purposes, isn't that good of a role player
If someone is creative enough, he/she could justify any course of action (within the TOS, of course)
