this is the component needed for the third stage of armor break slice i believe. anyone know where to loot these?

I haven't looted padding. Tons of micro plating and mando frames though. I don't think they're dropping in BH missions. Another thread said CorSec NPC's drop them.

I've found them on nightsisters, but it's probably be easier to buy them off a BH's loot vendor. Check the bazaar and the vendor search from the bazaar, that's about the cheapest way to get them unless you become friends with a BH that isn't a smuggler.

these are going up in price exponetially on GOrth, tons of reactive plating but padding is getting very rare and is need in the next to thelast slice. Time to make some cash on the stock i got.

In my experience, BH marks do not drop the shock absorbent paddings..

And if you check bazaar/vendors, those tools seem to be the less common. As far as I know some space mobs drop those and even corsec npcs (but since there's a thread about slicing tools you might want to check it out, I can't remember the url)

thanks for the feedback. ya i'm a bh and haven't looted any of these but was thinking of trying some easier marks as they are the third stage tool and the forth is dropping from the high end marks. i'll try the other suggestions too. thanks

I have been struggling formany days trying to figure out where to get shock absorbant padding (used in the armor break slice). If anyone can tell me where to loot it i would be very apreciative.

I have heard that you can loot it off corsec guys but i read that off of a message written precu.

I'll jump in first before you get pounded into the ground (rightfully so). Your post doesn't make sense. The shock absorbent padding was introduced as a part of the slicing fix/BH changes which was definitely post CU. As to where you'll find them *coughFAQcough* they are looted from BH marks.

i wasnt aware that they werent around pre cu but i have two sets of bh armor from doing bh missions and there is no waySAP dropnaturally drop off of bh marks. My issue is kettemoore only has 46 for sale on any vendor and they are all on one vendor @ 500k a stack. I need a reliable source to loot them. Its a real shame that the smuggler faq posted where to loot every slicing tool except the SAP. Sorry if i sound a bit flustered in this post but i need a straight answer from someone who has looted the shock absorbant padding. I dont need information that is clearly baseless hearsay.

Here is the piece of the smuggler faq that does not answer my question as to where i can find shock absorbant paddings.

How do I slice armour?

The process for slicing an armour piece is identical to that of slicing a weapon, with only the options available and effects differing.

Where can I get slicing components from?

Slicing components enter the game in the form of loot drops. These can be obtained throughout the galaxy, on the ground as well as in space. Known places that drop high end components include the Death Watch Bunker (DWB), Avatar Space Platform and the Corvette. Known specific drops include (thanks to Makris):

(Space) Tier 5 merc Ship in Dantooine: Level 4 armor upgrade pieces

(Ground) Nightsister Sentinels, Nightsister Elders (Dathomir, Stronghold) and (Tatooine) Krayt Dragons: Mandalorian Interframe, Delicate Trigger Assembly

(Space) Tier 5 and 4 Black Sun, CorSec mission spawns: Illegal core booster (3rd weapon damage slice)

(Ground) Mercenaries on Lok: Simple toolkits

(Space) Tier 4 Tie (unspecific craft) while on a duty mission

(Ground) Thugs outside Moenia, Naboo: Tier 3 slicing componets

(Space) Tier 5 Imp Gunboats, Kessel: Reactive Micro Plating and Illegal Core Boosters

As you can see they failed to note where someone can loot SAP

Three places I've obtained them:

1. BH missions, although they don't seem to drop as much as the other slice comps, they do drop from MBH missions every now and then. I get that worthless mandolorian infraframe that nobody uses more than anything else though.

2. Nightsisters. Well, out of the 500+ nightsisters I've killed post CU, one of them had a shock absorbant padding.

3.Salvaging old crates of WUK's. Igot more shock absorbant paddings from this than I have anything else, although it still wasn't very many.

I think I *might* have seen one drop from a krayt as well, but I don't remember for sure. Again, with nightsisters and BH marks, if you do get a slice loot it's most likey those damned mando infraframes that nobody uses. This all being said, the drop rate is far higher for BH missions than anything else... but you do a lot of riding around chasing waypoints.
