Thread: An idea for the devs

I think there should be a new aspect to the Bounty Hunter profession...Live bounties. Sometimes (In Star Wars) a bounty will call for capturing the target alive, not just firing until the target dies. These missions should pay more than normal bounty missions, because it would've been a lot easier to kill someone than to capture them. Along the investigation line there could be some skills that make capturing bounties easier. A few examples of these skills would be a mesh net that does the "capturing", a certification in a weapon that does stun damage/ a tranquilizer gun(neutralizes the target, but doesn't kill), and throughout the investigation line a few upgrades to the mesh net and stun/tranquilizer gun. The Stun/tranquilizer gun could be created by weaponsmiths, and master artisans OR rangers could create the mesh nets. The mesh nets and stun/tranquilizer guns should NOT be usable against creatures, so that the ranger profession will remain useful. There should be a delay between uses of these abilities, because otherwise they could be exploited. If anyone has additional ideas/comments I would appreciate a post replying to this.

I was thinking that instead of adding defensive stats as many people seem to believe, I thinkMaster Bounty Hunters should get a reduced Encumberance Cost for wearing armor. Riflemen and TKA's and all them ruin the feel to the game by all running around in their full Composite Suits. SInce it's too late to do anything about that, you at the very least could make Master Bounty Hunters Proffecient at wearing armor reducing the Encumberance Cost by alot. These reduced Encumberance costs would be in place of Defensive Bonuses. Honestly you could add maybe a little to Melee Defense, but Defense isn't really our problem.

If we're supposed to be good at Offense, then MAKE US GOOD AT OFFENSE. I mean we only are able to hunt and exterminate anyone in the game (Even Jedi that aren't Masters). If you don't believe me, read the description for Master Bounty Hunter in the skills tree.

"A Master Bounty Huntercan effectively track down and Eliminate almost any opponent"

Well we cant track our opponents, and when we go against anyone it's a crapshoot to whoever gets the first hit which decides the outcome of the battle. This puts to rest once and for all that tired argument that "Bounty Hunters are the Rogus of SWG". We are THE Elite Combat Proffesion. We are meant to to be able to defeat ALL other professions with the exception of Master Jedi. Sadly this is not the case, and nothing is being done about it. In a place where Bounty Hunters are supposed to be feared, they are instead mocked. PvP really depends on luck, and as Bounty Hunters we shouldnt be relying on Luck, but rather our SKILL. You know those things we spent 217 points on?

I still firmly believe that they should up the BH's PvP capabilities, but remove them from being able to join the GCW. That keeps those"L33t dudes" from joining us to "pwn" people in PvP. I realize some people are very tied into their faction, but I think it is for the greater good of the profession. I would much preffer to be Neutral and effective then being Gimped just so I can be an Imp/Rebel. And if you get down to it, if your in a faction your not really a Bounty HUnter but more of a Rebel or Imperial Hitman. Bounty Hunters are not aligned with factions, they were part of the Bounty Hunter Guild. I believe removing us from the GCW keep the Uber vP people away, and opens the door for the DEVs to be able to make us Fearsome Bounty Hunters, and to make us Fearsome for one thing...to do our Job! Not to Duel people in Coronet, or go on raids, or to "Pwn" anyone. To Hunt our jedi and potentially other Characters as well if that is ever implented effeciently.

Now when Permadeath was in place for Jedi, I could see them not powering us up for fear of losing their precious Jedi. But now there is no excuse. It's no big deal if we kill a Jedi anymore, so they might as well make us what we are supposed to be. People don't turn and try and duel Bounty Hunters after them, they try and RUN! Thats because Bounty Hunters are FEARED.

This is not so in this game. But it is possible.

Increased Accuracy on the LLC, or replacing it with a line with Rifles would be a start. Reduced Armor encumberance at a Master Bounty Hunter Level along with some minor Melee Defense Additives. Make the Pistol a viable weapon again by Fixing specials such as Bleed Shot, Eye Shot, and Fastblast, which at the moment between being gimped and Composite armor are useless. Reduced Carbine special costs, along with a Fire Knockdown that can hit consistantly like a Charge shot (Not Spammable, just hits as consistantly). Fixing our droids so that we can effectively hunt Jedi, who don't even face the threat of Permadeath anymore.

This isn't a call to make BH's Uber, I want them out of the Galactic Civil War because they don't belong there and as long as they ARE involved in the GCW they will become the "Combat Flavor of the Month" whenever it does work efficiently. So we take BH's out of somethign they have no place being in in the first place, and we then make Bounty Hunters what they were meant to be according to the Dev's themselves.

"A Master Bounty Hunter can effectively track and Eliminate almost any opponent"

I take that almost as a High end to Master level Jedi.

Please add thoughts of your own, perhaps if by accident or in a search to ban someone else from our forum they will read this and consider our ideas and pleas.

If Jedi and Bounty Hunters were equal in power I would agree, but there comes a point where the Jedi are much tougher then a single Bounty Hunter!

just reached knight at the old frs on TC2 last night and 4 hrs later they close the beta

well was great fun to test the new AI on mobs outside mustafar, and i have to say nightsister war going to be strong again and funny to fight.

the acklaygot an increase aswell etc.

now they just have to revamp the loot and all is fine

now the ideaadd the old frs system with improvement

- make padawans unable to go special force

- make padawans unable to drop FRS xp

- make MBHs drop FRS xp only with mission

- only jedi who completed the FRS trials will be SF (perma SF)

- make FRS jedi lose again 200k xp each clone and 50k xp on enhancer self rez

- if a FRS jedi didnt log in for 7 days , or didnt gain any rank in 4 weeks make him lose his "rank meber" so he has to do the trials again

- add death cap for each rank tier

- Tier 0 (unranked / rank member) 3 death a week , if you die 4 times in a week you will lose your FRS status and go back to padawan

- Tier 1 (rank 1-4) 5 death a week , if you die 6 times in a week you will lose your FRS status and go back to padawan

- Tier 2 (rank 5-7) 6 death a week , if you die 7 times in a week you will lose your FRS status and go back to padawan

- Tier 3 (rank 8-9) 7 death a week , if you die 8 times in a week you will lose your FRS status and go back to padawan

- Tier 4 (rank10-11) 8 death a week , if you die 9 times in a week you will lose your FRS status and go back to padawan

the kill tracker will be reseted each week ofc.

Howdy folks,
There is no console version of SWG planned. <-- its not planned. ITS ALREADY DONE and just waiting for release
