Thread: why all the trouble with boss marks?
i fought a lvl 82 in dearic sp and i couldnt get him past 50% health without having to run away/get incapped...
its all random how tuff the boss marks are, some have more health, or faster healing, or more damage...or a combination of all 3.....
what you said though; most of the boss marks i beat in like a minute or two, but the odd one completly kicks my ass
A lot of BHs have gone for MBH/MCM. This has very little damage output, and it can't keep up with the 1k every 5 seconds regen of the elite boss.
Those of us that are not templated for Player Jedi and that have some novice doc or CM do not have any problems.

Prior to havingknown about the changesin with the latest publishes out, I had the old MRM/MBH/Pistoleer 0404 template. I continually kept getting my ass kicked because I had no heal, and the "bosses" would run me down too fast enough for Ruby Bliel with a Stimpack - D. If you are having troubles, pick up 4000 CM. It is a great and useful tool to be able to heal yourself three times over with the AoE Bacta Spray, Bacta Toss, and Bacta shot. It would also give you a good use of those crates of Vasarian Brandy that we all have which we figured would be useless after the CU.
I've yet to run into a mark that gave me too much trouble - although I did bhave a long, drawn out battle with a boss mark.
First of all, you need a weapon that can outdamage the mark's regen - I'm an MBH/MSmug with the Stopping Shot tree of Pistoleer and for really tough marks, even my Proton Carbine isn't powerful enough. For those jobs, I use a really good Krayt HC that does over 610 dps. And in this situation, DPS really does matter, because you need to damage the mark faster than he heals.
Another factor is food - I have an MBH friend who respecced and he was still using Vasarian Brandy, Vagnerian Canape and Muon Gold like he did before the CU. Once I showed him the right foods and spice to use, he became more effective.
Good armor is a must - energy resist is the primary consideration. If the mark gets close enough to you to use kinetic attacks, you have screwed up. If all you can wear is assault, get a suit that's got improved energy resists - don't worry about kinetic when hunting marks, worry about keeping them far enough away from you that it's not an issue. If you want to minimize the damage you take and don't mind neededing to replace or repair your armor more frequently, get a full Hardening slice. That way, there's a chance that the armor will soak up the damage that might otherwise have gotten through and wasted you.
Also a good PSG is very useful - there have been marks that didn't do any damage to me whatsoever because of this.
And finally, know how to use your specials. I do everything I can to make sure my mark is less able to fight back at his fullest - roots, snares, knockdown, bleed, blind, stunned, dizzy, delayed... doesn't matter what your other main profession is, you should have something that helps.
While Medic is useful it really isn't essential for NPC bounties! I don't have it, I rely on really good Stim-Ds, well timed Ruby Bliel and Synthsteak, Duellist Stance and my normal regimen of food and drink and I haven't been taken down by an NPC yet.
The boss marks are tough, but any "real" BH ought to be able to beat them with proper preparation and understanding of the trade.
Ibfoofoo im not trying to bash you are call you a noob or anything, but People with your temp are not complaining. read the posts they are asking for help with info on what will work for them... most are lower than level 80...the full tempsdont have the healing they need,

If you arent a complete idiot and get eitehr 4xxx rifles, x4xx carbs, or some pistol line(never tried it so i dunno which) then you can do plenty of damage... I do.
