Thread: Speed Caps????

Speed cap is +25 weapon speed/+25 general speed
DPS means nothing at the moment.
As for the slicing if its not damage capped go damage then speed
i dont understand....
when u say +25 is the max, are u talking about skill tapes? I'm talking about speed as it relates to DPS of a weapon and slicing. For example: a 12% increase in speed on a weapon will increase the DPS. My question is, At my level (cl80, MBH,Mpistols,CM4000) does that increase in speed due to a smuggler's slice actually help me that much. If DPS is acuarate then yes it does help, however if im somehow speed capped (due to my template) and the dps is inaccurate, then perhaps i should concentrate on damage slicing.
You said if the damage is not maxed, then slice for damage. How can u tell if the weapons damage is maxed. Most of the weapons i buy have very low SAC cost which leads me to believe the WS used EXP points in that area and therefor the weapon is not damage maxed, is this a correct assumption?
help!!
Speed is more dependant on themoves that you use than the actual weapon speed. For example: my pistol has a speed of 1.22 but i use critical shot and torso shot allot, these moves have a natural recharge time of 1.7. Even though my pistol is some what fast it make no difference. If your buying weapons off a vendor or bazzar then chances are it is not damage capped. Damage capped weapons are crafted with Power Cells, Feed Mechanisms, Krayt Tissues, and Gorax Shards. These items increase the damage output of the weapon and make them faster. My best sugestion to you, if you are looking to make uber weapons, is to hunt for these parts and talk to a 12pt WS. The WS will be able to tell you what the damage cap is on the weapon you want. If he couldn't cap the damage on the build then slice it to cap the damage. Next take note of the moves you use and there recharge rate. If your modified speed is above this rate, speed slice it to at or below the moves recharge rate. Last if you have capped both damage and speed then dump everything you can into critical slices. With high quality components in the crafting of the weapon you should only need a tier 1 damage and speed slice leaving you with a tier 3 critical, which gives you a higher chance of doing 25% more damage. The simple answer to your question is that any speed slicing that you do under the recharge rate of your moves is just wasted. With good components your weapon can be uber with very little slicing needed. I hope this helps. Also if I am wrong about any of this someone please correct me.
In order to keep weapons within the game balanced, each has their own cap for damage and speed while being crafted (viewable here); however, the caps on weapons for slices are slightly lower than the crafting caps and while not are all known, a list of these caps is being put together by the Smuggler community (viewable here).
If either a weapon's speed or damage has reached that cap, you will be unable to improve that part of the weapon with a slice; you can however still improve other parts, so even if both the damage and speed cap are reached, you will still be able to give the weapon a chance of critical strike.

Is there a list of these recharge rates floating around?
