If you had to choose just 2 full "branches" from Pistoleer tree, which ones would make the most sense, be most effective?

Where would I be better to start at on the Pistoleer tree?. Grips 1, Marksmanship 1, or Techniques 1

Dodge only works if you have a pistol or fencer weapon equipped.

Quick question for you pistol wielding maniacs - i plan on going Master Commando - I was before and lost my character after being gone a long time. With my previous character before i supplemented my template with medic and CH skills - will I have enough skill points to enhance my template with some pistoleer skills - and if so - which lines would be best for my character. Or is it even worth it? I dont know how yall feel about dabblers - its only out of respect for you pistoleers from one combatant to another - any advice appreciated - Thanks so much

absolutely not - i cannot stand CH - im definitely going master Commando again - but am really interested in pistoleer to accent my skills - so that would be it - is it worth it - or should i spend my remaining points elsewhere?

Well , it really depends on if your going to beplaying a true Commando. The problem with playing two combat proffesions is that one will 99% of the time be your PRIMARY combat proffession. You could pick up Pistoleer to help your Launcher Pistol which are great for slaying nightsisters. But if you are planning on being a true Commando, you will probably NEVER use the launcher pistol. If you are looking to play something such asPistoleer more than Commando, I really see no point in mastering it. Im currently MPistoleer/BH Pistols/Nov Commando and I love the launcher pistol and really liked Commando but I always leaned towards using my pistols. Which is why I dropped all but novice in commando I had (I was like 2/2/4/2). All in all, its really personal preference. There really isn't anything a commando can do with the remaining points that would truly help COMMANDO, now you can can BH Pistols 4 and have no dodge but have great specials with 18 points left. You can go Master Pistoleer and live with these broken specials until the Combat Revamp( which is right around the corner supposedly
). For offensive dabbling Id go 0/4/4/4 Pistoleer and then go 0/0/4/0 Smuggler with 13 points left which I think would best be distributed in FS Skills ( If they fix them ). In which case they don't fix the FS Skills , 3/4/4/4 Pistoleer 0/0/4/0 Smuggler Master commando would be very fun. You would gain feign death which is great for flame burning and occasionally great for, well, not dieing
. You will probably be disappointed with all Commando ( exception of some of the greandes and the Flamethrower )until the combat revamp, but there have been some hints that Commandos will be able toplay the trueCommando theyoriginallythought theywould beAFTER THE Combat Revamp.
Incase you dont feel like reading here are the templates id suggest:
Master Commando (this template is more offensive than the one below it)
3/4/4/4 Pistoleer
0/0/4/0 Smuggler
1 point in one FS block
Master Commando(this template is a tad less offensive, accuracy wise, than the one above and has dodge)
4/2/4/4 Pistoleer
0/0/4/0 Smuggler
0/4/0/0 Combat Prowess ( FS Skills )
Master Commando
Master Pistoleer
4/4/0/0 Combat Prowess
and 10 Points to distribute anywhere else you would like
Master Commando
0/0/4/0 Bounty Hunter
0/0/4/0 Pistoleer ( for Geo Pistol and good defenses )
4/4/0/0 Combat Prowess
and 4 Points to distribute in FS skills
Thats all the template I can think of that includes pistols in general with Master Commando.

Zbrax had great ideas in there... the 0040 tree is the essential tree, and hopefully you can add the combat tree to be at least 0044 that gives you speed and the specials..unfortunately leaves you low on the accuracy side. So depending on how much you can spend at least 0044, and if you can 0444.
Good luck with it!

my current jedi-hunter template is:
TKM (i know, its melee)
BH 3000
novice medic
smuggler 0030
i was thinking of dropping the smuggler stuff for pistoleer 0030 (for more def vs dizzy, etc).
i was curious tho - does def vs. dizzy in pistoleer work while using a VK? i heard somewhere
that it did, but want to be sure.
also, if i drop novice medic and get pistoleer 0044, will the extra melee def make a difference
while using my vibro-knucklers? as it is right now, i can heal* myself decently w/ stim b's while in
combat, thnx to the bio-hat and pants that i use (+25 wound/injury treatment each).
is there a melee defense cap? i already have +70 or so after all my bio-clothes...
thanks in advance,

I have never tested this, but due to all the "defense stackers" out there, I'd gather that you get the extra defense no matter what weapon you equip, so it might be worth it... tho I hear the defense stacking will be gone in the Combat Revamp... Personally, I really enjoy 4/0/4/0 BH, Master Pistoleer, 3/3/4/0 Medic.. I don't really use much in the way of bio clothing.. but I do get good base dodge, on top of food I am hard to hit, not as hard as a fencer, but hard enough. Plus, with the extra medic skills i can cure that stupid force bleed, use higher stims and cure for more.. I know I should wear bio clothes.. but I'm currently 13/16, all 3 deaths to "gank squads"... I only hunt solo, so this template works great for me
But anywho, I'd pick up the 0030 in Pistoleer and keep novice medic, it helps
